You sound like the perfect case for anxiety. You need to relax. You might need anti-anxiety pills before sleeping. I used to work in the ICU and we once admitted a 16 year old for "respiratory problems". It turns out he was too conscious about his breathing that he was afraid that he might stop breathing if he didn't do it consciously. It is not sleep apnea because you need to sleep in order to have the apnea "stop breathing" and besides, you wouldn't know you had it unless someone checks your breathing patterns while you are sleeping to see if you stop breathing.

Not likely. This sounds like ANXIETY and PANIC, and needs to be treated. I would go to an emergency room first so they can check you out to rule out a physical condition. If they find nothing wrong with you that way, then a trip to a mental health clinic or psychiatrist's office would most likely be advisable. God luck with that, and be sure to take care of yourself. P.S. - I had this ame problem when I was exactly your age and it was all due to family stress!

Since you are 16 ,can you have your parents take you to see a doctor. Two nights without sleep means that something is going on that should be checked out. It could be something medically, or it could be that you are stressed out about something.

Also, are you drinking a lot of stimulants at night, such as caffeinated pop or sugary drinks.

Have u tried taking sleeping pills? It is best that you do seek care from a doctor. It coud be something serious. (I saw a crazy espisode on House about a girl who had BAD Insomnia)

I think you better tell your parents about the problem,..and check to doctor.
However,..you might try these :

1.Just relax,....dont fear of anything,....you are HEALTHY,....you just think that you have a breathing problem,...which actually NOT.

2.Dont be AFFRAID,....of anything....dont be affraid you cant sleep....dont be affraid you cant breath,....just RELAX...and ....SUbmitt everything to GOD.

3.Believe me,..you are Healthy,....and when you finish reading my answer,...you will feel better...isntit?
