Hi friendshipband, we need to read from Luke 16:19 through Luke 16:31 to understand what God is teaching us. This passage is about Lasarus and the rich man. I'll post some of it so you can read it.

Luke 16:19 “There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day. 20 But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate, 21 desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 “Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.’ 25 But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented.

26 And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.’

27 “Then he said, ‘I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father’s house, 28 for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.’ 29 Abraham said to him, ‘They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.’ 30 And he said, ‘No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’ 31 But he said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.’”

Some of what God is telling us is the rich man was very repentant after he was sent to Hell. In Luke 16:27 We read that he wanted to save his brothers but it wouldn't do any good, they were doomed also. They would not listen to Moses and the prophets. The one who rises from the dead is Jesus Christ.

God is also telling us in Luke 16:26 is that once you are condemmed to Hell it will too late. There is no way out, you will burn for eternity.

I think of it in this perspective.

Do you demand that the President of the U.S. show proof to you. What about a CEO of a company? Or a visiting Dignitary of a foreign country? Do you demand things of them?

Why then, should God who is higher than all of these people be expected to be at anyone's beck and call and to have to appear like some magical genie?

You are expecting God to play according to your rules. Sorry but God does not work that way.

Instead we come to him in faith. And you know what happened when I finally realized that was all I needed and I had to make that first step towards him. He showed himself to be very real in my life. I've had way too many answered prayers for it to be simply coincidental that things get resolved in my life. There has to be a higher being who loves and cares enough for me to meet my real needs. And he does meet those needs in his own way.

God has sent hundreds of people back from the dead.
Known as "Near Death experiences" And many give testimony of seeing things a corpse on a slab could not see. And still you do not believe...

NO. He wants you to trust Him, in the same way you want your kid to trust you: for the simple reason that you know better than him. God loves you very much and wants you to trust Him. Is that really so much to ask? Don't you want your kid to trust you when you tell him not to run into traffic, but you know he is too young to understand why? In a case like that, you have to demand trust to save his life. And consider this, if there really is a God, and He loves you like His child, do you really think you are capable of understanding all His reasons for everything He does? Honestly?

If God simply showed up and made his proof known to everyone, this would make faith unnesesarry. God wants us to learn about him through his teachings and acts.

I believe in God, whether he can be seen or not, THAT IS FAITH.

God Bless

Why does God need to give human absolute proof of His existence? Isn't that presumtous?

Jesus said:"blessed are those who believe without seeing"

How can someone not believe in his existence. Just look around. Everything that has life, is given to us by God's grace; not by some little microbe that decided to "evolve" one day.

Annoying? Maybe testing, God requires faith, God gives hope.
Try Faith. If when faith is shown, truely, proof of His existence will be provided.
