Money is extremely tight this year. The people I normally give gifts to have plenty of money and don't need anything. I am dreading Christmas and adding even more to my credit cards. What can I do? I don't know how to make anything or I'd knit socks or something.

Make your amazing homemade cards. I always love the ones I get from you.... They're pretty!
Or tell your daughter that whenever she wants that tattoo, that you will pay for it... she is having trouble deciding if she wants it now.

I also can't afford to buy Christmas gifts this year, but I usually don't buy a whole lot of people gifts anyway. I actually just had a dream about christmas gifts last night. I haden't gotten anyone but my mom a gift.

What I have told people on the past: I don't want to be rude but please don't buy me anything for Christmas this year because I can't afford to buy you anything. It has always worked for me. If anything a cheap but nice gift: Get somebody to take a nice picture of you, (and you family and or pets if you have any) then get them made up at Wal-Mart or somewhere that has a picture machine. And give that as a gift. I have done it when tight on money and so has my grandmother. Just remember it's not how much you spend but the thought that counts.People really shoud respect you for that and will understand.

Maybe you could just make them little cards that say "free babysitter for a night" or "free house cleaning for a day" or something like that . Everyone who is close enough to you to get a present should know your situation and I am sure everything will be okay. Enjoy the season-even if you are broke(i will be broke too). Spend time with your family and rent a good ole Christmas movie and drink hot chocolate with the kids-since i probably will never get a chance to tell you "Merry Christmas".

nkitchen gifts are incredibly popular any time especially Christmas. And inexpensive and time saving
Plan for cookies tarts candies and fruit. But mostly baked goods. Make a different batch each shopping day and freeze them bulk stores for candy fresh markets for fruits and toss in some mini batches of home made jams and some biscuits. You can find wonderful baskets at the thrift store in your area that are in very good condition. dollar stores abound with cards and basket wrap and ribbon. It always in the thought. Personalize your goodie gifts by making favourites for your freinds and family. Eg john has peanut allergies-shortbread and sugar cookies in his basket
you get it.

It can be done I threw a party for my sons tenth birthday 34 kids i themed it and the total cost was under a hundred dollers
Good luck

If you can't just tell them you can't exchange this year why don't you suggest picking names? My family used to do that when we all lived close together. The adults would put names in and pick out one. You got that person a gift and usually had a dollar limit of say $30-$50 depending on what you can do. Then we also had multiple lists of what everyone liked that everyone got a copy of. We did this at our Thanksgiving gathering. Don't sweat it. Seriously, most people would rather not do it either. It's gotten way out of hand.

What I actual have advised people on the previous: i do no longer want to be impolite yet please do no longer purchase me something for Christmas this twelve months by way of fact i'm no longer able to arise with the money for to purchase you something. It has constantly worked for me. If something a low-fee yet mind-blowing present: Get somebody to take a mind-blowing photograph of you, (and you relatives and or pets in case you have any) then get them made up at Wal-Mart or someplace that has a photograph gadget. and provide that as a contemporary. I actual have completed it while tight on funds and so has my grandmother. purely remember that is no longer how lots you spend however the theory that counts.people incredibly shoud understand you for that and could understand.

Shop early ! I've already started, see something on sale or in those $1 bins ? Pick it up !

Homemade gifts are really sweet and thoughtful. I like the idea of those glass jar, quart size, cookie mixes. There are a ton of recipes for this kind of project, cookies, soups, etc. any thing that has dry ingredients.

Well tell them the truth you can not afford it this year. I am in the same boat i can not afford gifts this year so my family and i are just buying for just the immidiate children that are in our family. You can buy really inexpensive gifts for the children. Maybe just tell them that if they have children or just plain out say i can not afford it this year. Or maybe just making a Christmas card on your computer or hand make it. but i would just go with you can not afford it this year.
Hope this helps.

Just send Christmas cards. Have a party for the people who live nearby, and don't worry about sending out presents.
