It means one of your lymph nodes is dead and has been dead so long it has calcified. Calcified means it has turned into something hard like a stone.

Calcium is the mineral that makes bones hard. A calcified lymph node is not the same as cancer. What significance it has depends on many things and you should discuss this with your doctor. Basically, it's a hardened lymph node.

You may be worried because calcifications on a mammogram may indicate a cancerous process, although not always.

I have calcified lymph nodes and I do not have cancer. Google "calcified lymph nodes."

no I don't think it's a type of cancer but I'm not a doctor....I just had two root canals done and they told me that my roots had calcified....certainly didn't mean they were cancerous..just turning into little limestone deposits.

It's not necessarily cancer - the doctor may have not found anything too serious. If he/she did, they would have told you.
