There are only two religions:
1. man's attempts to get to God and win His favor,
2. God reaching out to man in the person of Jesus Christ.

Every religion in the world, other than biblical Christianity, is a version of number 1

There is no way of knowing since many people invent their own religions.

Most likely at least 10 million.

This question has been asked here several times in the short amount of time I've been doing this and my favorite answer is: one is more than enough and more than one is just plain silly!

I heard one estimate there are over 10,000 individual religions in the world.

A couple of them are a lot bigger than the rest, obviously, but there are a ton.
