talk to your local pharmacist. my 12 year old had a stubborn case of ringworm in multiple spots on her legs and we got rid of it using over the counter Lamisil cream. It says it is for athletes foot, jock itch, and ring worm. Costs a bit, and have to use it once or twice a day- but it cleared up my daughters within a couple weeks.
Due note that even though you are treating it, it can take a while for the entire lesion to go away. Make sure not to scratch at it, and use fresh towels each time you shower- ringworm is a fungal infection of sorts, and you can spread it, so its best to not use the same towel repeatedly. It is very easy to catch ringworm, it is contagious.
good luck.
**** do not use caustic sunstances on your body such as bleach- mentioned in an above post!!! that IMHO is very dangerous and will not work to kill a fungal infection in the skin. *******

Old remedey that we always used is, turpintine.put a dap on a cotton ball and swap the ringworm,it's gone in about 3 to 4 days.Or you can use clear nail polish,or nail polish remover.Nail polish works great because it keeps air off of the ringworm and therefore it can't live and it goes away in about 2 to 4 days.Use daily.

That sucks! I have a 3yr old that got one about a yr ago from his daycare. There were a couple of kids that got it. Im sorry to say but man, it took forever for him to get rid of it. They are highly contagious so if you get close to a boyfriend or what not..be careful. The med he got was a cream clotrimazole/betamethasone/dipropionate and at times it didnt seem like it was doing any good. What are you putting on it? I'd love to know. Theres also a medicine you can take by mouth that she wouldnt prescribe to him bc the of the side effects being too much for someone so young. So ask your dr. about the oral med. Email me and let me know the name of your med.

there are different medications your doc can perscribe you if the one you have now isn't helping much. Blue star ointment can help with some types of ringworm. You should be able to find it at any wal-mart store or a wal-greens. If you don't live near one of those most pharmacy stores should carry it. GOOD LUCK!!!

A folk remedy for ringworm is a 1:1 solution of cider vinegar and water. Another alternative is 2 drops tea tree oil mixed with an ounce of water.
use lamisil though

OTC treatments such as certain "athlete's foot" creams should do the trick in about 1 week (Lamisil was the one i believe that worked for me). Read the package recommended usages and most of the athletes foot creams also treat ringworm
