What type of poisons/chemicals can be found through the DNA on person who is deceased? I'm not trying to make anyone feel uneasy about this, I just need some answers. I know with specific poisons/chemicals the pathologics has to order specific tests or otherwise they won't be done. Anyway, that's what some of the books say.

Does anyone out there have a little bit more information on this?

Thank You!! :~)

Most poisons can be found in the blood and tissue of a deceased person. It really doesn't have anything to do with DNA. A lot of them have to be specifically tested for.

Are you going to poison someone?

DNA test can only determine disease , parentage, and other biological issues.

To test for poisons/ chemicals they do tissue and fluid (blood, urine) tests.
And the they usually do a broad spectrum test and will test further only if they notice an abnormality.

If you suspect a certain poison or chemical you can inform the medical examiner or police and let them determine if the test are needed.
