My friend wants to set me up with a friend of his but she wants to meet in and more social setting with a few people, however my friend is having some trouble getting his act together, the girl seems nice and all so I'm trying to get things rolling, any ideas?

minature golf, bowling, ice skating, clubbing, dinner, movie, amusement park, beach, sailing, surfing, friend's house, have a poker night, games, walk the dogs, park, etc. anything you enjoy.

Go to Olive Garden and then Go carts or mini golf. If you don't like that then you should try a theme park or the zoo is good.
Don't go to the movies because thats something you do when you know each other not when you are trying to get to know someone.

I would definitely say the movies, but check with your friends what kind of movies she likes, you don't want her to think it was your idea to see a horror if she hates them, other than that, a good game of cricket or football, whatever with your friends at the beach if she is a sporty girl.

Miniature golf...with a spin. I did this and it pissed off my friend because I became more exciting of a date than him. You start from the last hole...and try and work your way back to hole one. Usually these courses have more than one course overlapping...so you play multiple hole 12, etc. It's fun...and don't keep score...ruins the fun.

Coffee shops are nice...good for "people watching" and usually centrally located in case someone comes up with another idea.

set up for a nice movie and dinner at some sort of very casual place. maybe end with a walk throught he park!

go to a lounge type club. If you dont have one of those in your area, then everyone should meet at one persons house for dinner and drinks.
