F'd up neighbor?
I have been living in a great apt for 3 years. The landlords son (curly) moved into the 3rd floor a few months ago. His music while annoying doesnt bother me. I had some friends come over a few weeks ago and Curly was working on the house. A few weeks later I saw him and he asked me how my friends were and asked specific questions about the conversation we were having that he isnt involved in. SO two weeks later, I went outside to smoke a cigarrete and out comes curly. He was drunk but so was I and he tells me how great our last conversation was - which he wasnt incolved in. SO tonight around 11pm. I hear this ****** calling out mu name outside the window and 5 minutes later banging on the door. I ignored it and shut off all the lights.
Will this prick stop banging on my door by my ignoring him or whould I tell him to f off? I

I think that Curly has a mistaken idea that you are open to a friendship with him.....and he is only trying to be friendly and maybe thinks that he has found himself a drinking buddy. I think it would be wise to be a little "cold-shouldered" for a while to see if he gets the idea that you are not interested in being his friend. When he approaches you outside, for example, give him a polite greeting and then excuse yourself and leave before any real conversation can be started. After a few encounters, I'm sure he'll get the message that you want to be cordial but not friendly.

I would complain to the landlord about Curly - he's not living at home for some reason, eh?
You can always call the police.

I think I would simply tell him to respect your privacy. You do not wish to socialize with him, and you want him to leave you alone. You've paid rent here for three years and this is your right, and maybe he has misunderstood something. But get it clear, leave me and my company alone. Or you could put it in writing, so he couldn't miscontrue what was said to his parent, the landlord, and keep a dated copy.

There has to be one of them in every residence, you did the correct thing and if you ever feel threatened just pick up the phone and call the cops. Just remember the world is full of inadequacies.

Just shoo him away. Maybe he just wanted to talk to you as you did on those two previous occasions.
