Prison for LIFE without parole is OK if you can be sure that the murderer won't murder again in prison, either another prisoner or a guard. How can you ever be sure of that? The death sentence is seldom completed even when it is stipulated. Death-sentenced prisoners can live on with appeals and so on for twenty years or more.
In any case, I believe that regardless of sentence, any murderer who kills a second time should be mandatorily and summarily executed.

It should depend on how the murder happened. If it was quick and painless like a broken neck or shot in the head then he should spend a long time in prison. But if it was something like the manson murders where they stabbed the people like 30 times each the they should get the death penalty. People who are on death row wait a while before they are put to death. And having to look at your victims loved ones as you are dying seems like a good punishment to me.

Some murder cases are so horrible I just can't image the person being allowed to live. On the other hand I am not completely for the death penalty.
However the longer a prisoner is in jail the more my tax dollar go to support him.

No to the death penalty. Life with no parole is the way to go. Life in prison IS NO LIFE.

liberals do not & will not think this thru. murderers keep on killing in prison. or, rape, or beat up the less criminal. or occasionally get lucky and kill or maim a guard. prison gives a murderer a new lease on his fun, because now he knows his victims cannot get away from him, and they cannot get a weapon to stop him, and they will not be able to yell or call for a cop to save them, and they cannot lock their doors to keep him out. in this sense, if you do not kill a killer, you transfer the guilt for his murders, rapes, beatings, even just threats--to yourselves.

I think they should be placed in prison for life...Death is quick and permanent...Not much of a punishment....They need to suffer in jail.
