Hi. I agree with those who said go with an infectious disease specialist. Yes you may need IV Vancomycin but its very expensive and Bactrim DS orally also works and is cheaper and easier than IV therapy. There is a medication we use on topically on hospice patients called Acticoat 7 it must be Acticoat 7 and know there are six different kinds of Acticoat. Hospice patients have compromised immune systems which is why this may also work for you. Keep well hydrated and keep spitting out that mucous. You need good nutrition do not neglect that take vitamins and Boost makes a meal replacement juice extra c and zinc will benefit as well and a product called arginaid its an amino acid that helps healing. Good luck Dan.

Debbie N. is exactly right. An infectious disease doc is the way to go. My best friend developed a weird skin condition a few years ago where a tiny scratch ulcerated on her hand. They kept saying staph infection and cutting and cutting on her. Finally an infectious disease guy came in and right away diagnosed Pyoderma Gangrenosum - a rare skin disease that gets worse each time the skin is cut or injured. They were making it worse, not better. They diagnosed her just days before they were going to amputate her hand, which would have led to arm, etc. Hers is an autoimmune disease and the infectious disease guy saved her. Get to one right away - the dermatologists she had seen had no idea what they were looking at - and it was a disease that affects the skin!!! Good luck!

I have the same problem. Dermatologist and doctors have no clue. I get mine frozen. They go away, but sometimes come out in a different area. I was exposed to molds/fungus 4 yrs ago. That is when mine started. If you would like to visit my mold help site and see if it might help you, go to:
http://moldhelper.homestead.com/About_Us.html
leave me a message in guestbook if you think this helps.
you might want to join my mold support group also. I am still trying to find out what causes the spots or lesions. I will update my site when I get more information.

If the antifungals work, get checked out for a systemic yeast syndrome. www.hufa.org has some basic info. Also, it would not hurt to get your insulin level checked. If insulin is overproducing, then it can cause other imbalances that can affect your immune system.
In the meantime, start eating plain, no fruit yogurt for the acidophilous bacteria.

unfortunately you a genetic trait that effects you and the staph is dominant .....the wholesale unauthorized use of antibiotics in third world country's have cause most antibiotics not effective..the USA has a epidemic plan in place for thousands if not hundred of thousand of deaths from a raging staph type infection that will be worse than the bird flu

If you have been diagnosed with MRSA you NEED IV antiobiotics, vicomyacin or vanomyacian, I believe, to get rid of that, if you can get rid of it.
It is coag neg staph, hard to kill and can be life-threatening.
GO TO AN INFECTIOUS DISEASE SPECIALIST! Not a dermatologist, or regular MD - get your lab results and get going.

Maybe it is hidradenitis suppurativa. It causes tender cysts in areas where you have sweat glands (armpits, anogenital, breast/chest trunk facial) often mistaken for acne vulgaris..it is odorous too. If you just had pneumonia that may just be coincidental...Keep trying, that's why they call it 'practicing' medicine...best of luck
