Me. That and "original sin" are what drove me away from Christianity.

I was raised in church (Southern Baptist at that!), but I was NOT taught that. I was taught that loving God, accepting His gift of forgiveness, and living like Jesus did is what's important. Going to church can either draw us closer to God, or push us farther from Him, depending on what kind of church we attend. It's nice to be with other believers, but not necessary.

No, I always was taught that Christianity was much more than just going to church, but how you lived your life outside of church.

No, I have never heard of that. Church is something that believers attend by choice, not by force.
Going to church doesn't save you from hell.

99% of us. It's the root of the problem. People being angry
because they think they have to suffer when they haven't
really done anything. But that's weak human crap, threats to
make us behave, and lies of the devil.
Not the spiritual message that God don't "pass the buck". He understands this world better than we do, and has
provided a way out. But we have to accept it.

No, I was taught that if you didn't accept Jesus Christ as your Savior you would suffer in hell, church, although highly recommended, was optional.

It wasn't exactly that which I was taught. My very strict Catholic parents say to me all the time Jesus suffered through so many hours of torture, His blood flowed on the cross, He was nailed to a tree alive, He was misabused, He died all for your sins and you can't even give Him an hour of your time to worship. So it wasn't my eternal suffering that got me to church, it was the guilt of Jesus's suffering.
