It's sad isn't it , how Americans can become so divided over so many issues .
We have so many advantages in this country that others don't have and sometimes Americans don't seem to appreciate them .
Some of us seem to have a closed mind and will not listen to anthers point of view and some can only articulate by insulting and name calling .
There doesn't seem to be any negotiating any more , if I think I'm right , then don't try to tell me any thing different , because my mind is made up and I won't listen .
Come on American we can do better , can't we . Let's all pull together to help each other out and put this country back on track
God Bless the soldiers in our Military and bring them home salf and soon

No you are not. But as long as one political party keeps insisting that they support the troops but not the war, things will not get better, especially when they publically accuse the troops of killing women and children in Iraq and make the accusation for political "gain" in the national media, that fawns all over them. Today's soldier are in combat with more restraints on their actions than ever before in history - with the current attitude of one of our political parties, this nation would have never won World War II.
The place to complain about the war is the ballot box, not a sound bite with the national news, and certainly not at the expense of those serving in the military.
I think you're right, in a 100 years , historians will view this period much differently than some of today's politicians.
Thank you for your service to our country and thank your buddies too.

Well, you've probably seen some ugly stuff, but Afghanistan and Iraq haven't been big enough so far, and won't be easy enough, to make all Americans pull together. WWI and WWII were different because they were so BIG, and there was no big hassle over Desert Storm because it was so quick and easy. As you say, it will take a while to sort out all the facts, maybe not 100 years, but at least 40, and then, as you say, historians will likely say "yes".

Democracy was built on the foundation of by the people for the people.
In America we have lots of different people, and lots of different thought processes.
Republican VS Democrats
Theologian VS Athiests
I think that if we were to agree on everything, no one would be happy.
It's not that we can't work togetehr, either. Look at Katrina, both Democrats, Repbulicans, Athiest and Theologians were working TOGETHER in AMERICA to do something for the people down there.
War is just hard to not be polorized about because even though we are avenging our brothers from 9-11, taking so many peoples lives seems wrong to some of us, and to other it seems like we are doing the right thing.
America is about the fredom of speech, freedom of opinion, and if we don't have that freedom, what do we have?

You're not asking too much at all. The political hatred in this place is not new, but seems to have been getting progressively more intense and spiteful since the Carter / Reagan years. Then it was funny, but today people openly desire assassination and that is simply morally, ethically, and civilly wrong. Today's Bush haters are like the Clinton haters of the 90s only even more psychotic. I don't get it - hatred is not worth that.

you're not asking too much at all, what this country needs to do is to wake up. And i said this because it seems that everything is heading downhill (as far as the war and the economy and the way of thinking and living). The next people that are running for office really needs to sit down and regroup and reorganize the situations of this country and make improvements before it is too late.

No you are not asking too much. Thank you for your service to our country. I feel that what is missing is that one word. Our country too many people feel it is just their country. It seems we have lost our way. Democrats are not all wrong and neither are Republicans. George Bush is not evil and wrong. I feel very sure he was right about Iraq and Afghanistan. Again thank you for all you have done and thank the members of your family for their sacrifice too.

your conceptions my be reversed to see what you said. Us that didn't go are not going to get the training the money spent on us to bring us to your level. we got **** jobs back here in the states, we got no college fund ready to be ours and we have pride too. we may not be able to ever get back to where we were but the ceo's keep robbing corporation and stacking straight up the market it doesn't have a liniar stat to it. if evrybody had the same game plan as enron and many did and few are ever going to recover the losses have no uncle sam to save them we just sink in deeper in to jobs that american don't want and are exported locally. the plan was we were suppoed to be free in america. to us that meant that we didn't have to bond. i see your point and raise you a nickel. save your self and don't wear your feeling pinned to your chest, very honorable but not good enough to avoid suspision of Roger Whittiker old album looking for a new world.
love you boy for giving us our freedom always thank a vet, you have to see that we have not evolve to where are today we have been obsorbed. we totally are loosing evrything in services to the bringing sabout of supporting center for this new culture. all this money that was ear maked for americans is going to be used to re-education to people who DON'T want it theywant to have use pay for their colture and needs so you've heard that haven't you isn't the war here the same war you have there only you get the money for your war and we can't open our mouth about the war that is here with out the people making money off of it screaming were tipping the apple cart and where is the apple cart in irag isn't it in the hands of people just as bad as the unorganization you describe what is here is the same as what is there, so next time you want it all an d you want it know to share as the american dream then get me in the white house. deaf son of 2 star general. were the quiet people who live between the wars and promises

Once we get a president, and other representatives who have a positive outlook on things and listen & work together we can stop being so polarized. Bush and Congress and the Senate have such a negative attitude, it's hard not to be polarized as a nation.
