Kids talk at all different ages. If you're really concerned get a doctor's opinion, but it could just be that he's not ready to gab yet.

hiya that is critical to maintain staring at your sons progression with reference to his speech. It does look there's a speech postpone yet that on that is own won't contemporary as a concern. All babies strengthen in a distinctive way, that's quite achieveable that he would say his first be conscious very quickly. Has he had his listening to checked? the only reason I say that is on account which would be a contributing element in his loss of speech. on the different hand if he provides the different delays or unusual behaviors, it incredibly is the place you're able to could be troubled. Autism is dx while there is a minimum of 6 indications/impairments throughout 3 aspects (social interplay/verbal substitute/habit) of the DSM-IV standards. i think of it may assist you analyze this and word in the journey that your son is setting up into those aspects. If no longer I probable shouldn't difficulty to lots as yet.

After about a year, a child should start learning words faster, but boys do tend to be slower then girls. Also a child won't start speaking if you don't make them, such as if they just point to something, and you give it to them, they won't need to learn to speak, so they won't. I suggest if you're doing this, you should point to it and tell them what it is a couple of times. Then the next time they want that item, don't give it to them, unless they say the word that it is.

I have a 15 month old son, and he doesn't say much either. "mom", "dad", and words that sound like, "dog" and "kitty." But I'm often surprised how much he understands. Children develop speech at different ages. I wouldn't worry yet. Please check out this website. It has lots of useful info.

oh no dont worry. my youngest is 21 months now, and he is just begun to talk, but my older son who is now 3, took longer, simply because he didnt have anyone but me around. I find my youngest started a lot sooner, cause his brother always talks to him. I had a health nurse tell me i shoudl take my oldest ( when he was 18 months) to a speech therapist...... you know what, my rule f thumb, bring in the speech therapist when he is 4 or 5, and you cant understand him. Every child develops at different speeds, and picks up different things at different time sthan other kids. My oldest is smart as a whip, and a memory to boot, but his speech still isnt great. I have given myself one more year, before i consider a speech therapist!!! and dont let anyone tell you it is a problem, cause it isnt! at 15months...come on give the kid a break!

They all develop at their own pace. Some talk a blue streak at 12 months and others don't . My oldest said mom , dad and bird (everything was a bird) until he was 18 months then it just took off. . Talk to his doctor to be sure.

it is normal. let him take his own time to start talking.
same time you can also help. try to ignore him when he tries to tell you small things by action and preend you are not understanding unless he speaks it out. But don't over do it. he will start talking when he is ready and he really finds it necessary to communicate only by words but not by actioins
we tried it with my nephew and he started talking when he reached 2 years. now he talks with out break and some times we have to ask him to shut up. !!!

Go to www.babycenter.com I think they have a development chart on there for different ages. I would give it until he is about 18 months and if he is not talking more by then take him to his doctor.

it's normal - no need to worry.
be sure to always say what is going on. if you walk by a tree, point it out and say tree.
read books to him every day - pointing out colors, shapes, letters.
their brains take in a lot and he will be learning, although you may not think so, he will be. Some day he'll surprise you!
have fun with him!
