Well its true when they say you never forget your first love.
My best friend and I have had this same issue. Alot of times its subconscious comparisons between your first love and your former lover. But honestly the dreams are always of the good times you had together but leave out the nasty times you had together.
Definitely don't contact him it wouldn't be fair to either of you. Plus I wouldn't tell your lover that you are having dreams about your first love, either. Won't be pretty.
Honestly the dreams don't mean anything, but they do make you wonder. I always wonder if he is having dreams about me or if he's thinking about me too. Then I move on because honestly there is a reason that you aren't together anymore.
Make new dreams with your former lover and think nothing about the dreams of your first love.

Hun your first love will always be something you will remember and cherish because its just that your first. You will never forget the first person but you can move on its normal to think and dream about other people though if you feel you need to contact the person its best to do so dont not act on you feelings in the end it could hurt the other person you care about.

I'm not particularly the right person to ask about relationships, but there must be a reason you still dream about him. After all, he was your 1st love. But if you already love someone, it may be good to start anew. See if there is a difference between him and your 1st love.

a first love is a hard thing to replace! u will always have fond thoughts of a first love, but at the same time, u need to give your new love a fair chance, time is what will strengthen the bond, and i think it is better to leave the first love in the past, as a fond memory.
