Really we never stop caring about things, we just hide inside from them. A good thing to do is to go for a walk (in sunshine if possible) and do or say something nice: help someone carry something, tell someone their clothes look nice, give some change to a charity collector ... call a friend and say you missed them or that you just want to talk. You could even give a few more details here on Answers to get some feedback about your situation. Most of the feedback will be sympathetic and will try to be helpful.

That is exactly what I do. When something hurts too bad, you have to decide if its worth losing yourself over. If the answer is no, then just stop caring and it hurts no more.
Sometimes, I get mad instead.

It seems you are using Defense Mechanisms to keep from being hurt. We all do on occassion; ie. denial, projection, etc. If it stops you from being engaged in life and inhibits joy, seek therapy for better ways of coping

if you dont give **** then why do i bother answer this question and i just cry my self to sleep or i go onto the computer and send emails or talk to friends on the phone or just go outside and scream my head off.

that happened to me about 2 years ago, i was mad at the world and i pushed away everybody that was close to me, left my church and went back to my reckless ways. it was a cool summer(04) thou, sometimes u need to just "let go". but try not to let it happen 2 often, not good for the people who care about you
