Social Isolation is rarely "unhealthy" because everyone is different. Some people are introverted and require more time away from people and that fits their personality. Rarely you see a truly solitude person (i.e. a hermit), so don't worry about it. You're normal. :)

Depends on your self-esteem, the amount of pleasure you enjoy from solitude, and the quality of social interaction you receive when you do socialize. My general rule... if you are very outgoing than time alone is never really unhealthy, if you are shy or intraverted than solitude is likely to be an unhealthy way of escaping.

When you prefer to be alone to the point that you avoid interacting with people, going out with friends, et cetera. We all need people in our lives, and we all need friends. I enjoy spending time with myself, but I enjoy being with friends just as much. It's a balance.

Never. People in India who do this are worshipped and people bring them food and gifts so they will never have to work. Drinking and drugs are harmful whether alone or with friends. Peer pressure can make people become criminals.

Whether alone or with lots of friends everyone is looking to be happy. See this for info on that.

When it starts bothering you or the ones that care about you.

Everyone has their own balance of how much time they spend alone and how much time they spend with other people.

IT CAUSES YOU TO BECOME MORE SELF-ABSORBED. YOU BEGIN TO THINK EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS IS BECAUSE OF YOU, TO YOU, AND ABOUT YOU. YOU FOCUS ONLY ON WHAT MAKE YOU COMFORTABLE, WHAT YOU WANT, WHAT YOU NEED, ETC. THIS CAN LEAD TO SOCIAL ANXIETY, BECAUSE YOU'LL START TO BELIEVE THAT PEOPLE ARE LOOKING AT YOU, EVALUATNG YOU, JUDGING YOU, ETC. YOU WILL START TO ATTRIBUTE CERTAIN BEHAVIORS OF OTHERS TO SOMETHING ABOUT YOURSELF.
SLOITUDE IS GOOD IN MODERATION, BUT NOT WHEN IT EXCLUDES SOCAIL INTERACTION.

Well, I haven't been out socially since June. I went to my sisters wedding. I was out with my brother in February & I think I went out with friends around November last year.

But I'm OK - I have myself to talk to...& I always listen.
