1) start
2) run
3) type "msconfig" (no quotes)
4) click the startup tab (last tab)
5) everything that you see that is checked starts when your computer starts. uncheck anything you do not want.

Right one way, first. Click on programs, go to Startup. DELETE anything in there. second, Goto Settings Taskbar & Start Menu. Click on Show Quick Launch. You will get a load of stuff on the bottom left of the Task Bar. Right click on each & delete them all. Turh off Quick Launch if you don't use it, when loading programs, don't allow them to "Show Quick Launch". Now download Advanced Windows Cleaner, Upgrade to the beta3 version. Go into System Utilities, Click Start up manager, and choose what you don't want to start. Of course there are other ways, but this one is non-technical-sort of. AOL should be removed from your PC, you do not need it at all. MSN can also be stopped, if you don't use it at all in MSs own add/remove programs, Add/remove windows components. CCleaners Tools menu has an uninstaller. Good luck.

click your start button and then click on run. when that opens type in msconfig, when the box pops up click on the start up button and click disable all and then go back and put checks in stuff like virus protector or messenger or just find the program you want to stop and uncheck it. Hit ok and you can either restart now or exit without restarting. After you start back up another pop up will appear and you just click do not show this message again. Hope this helps ya out.

mattering on what program is starting, you can go in to it's options and you may find a place that says 'load' or 'open' on start up. unclick that.
or just take it out of your windows start menu
