I think that if they made alchol legal to people over 15 there wouldn't be such a substance abuse...well maybe the first 5 years that they make it legal there would be some abuse but after that people will just get tired of it and wont want to do it as often . Like in Germany

Just so you know, the drinking age in Germany is not 15 anymore. They also raised it to 21. I have family in Germany.

The legal drinking age is 21 because that is the age that the government has determined that people are "responsible enough to drink". The legal drinking age will never be 15. In most states you can't even drive until your 16. Why should anyone be allowed to drink before they are allowed to drive?
Also no way in hell would this help lower the amount of kids who abuse alcohol under age. If I could have bought alcohol legally before I turned 21 I would have gotten myself into a lot more trouble then I did drinking under age.
If I could contact your parents and let them know what your up to I would.

Are you not thinking straight tonight?
Giving teens(children) the opportunity to buy alcohol at 15 is plain luderous. Children have enough thing to deal with at that age
they don't need alcohol added to that mix of problems.
If you think they would get tired of this after 5 yrs.: Here's a wake-up call for you." By the time these young people went from 15 to today's legal drinking age(19 yrs.old) there would be more alcoholics to deal with by families & the health care system both in care & cost than I care to imagine.
If you ever had an alcoholic in your family{I have} you'd wish the legal age would be moved up higher(maybe 21,as it use to be.) instead of lowered.
By the way in Germany a young person can only buy BEER or WINE & they have to be 16yrs. old not 15.& to consume it at this age is strictly up a custodal person or persons with parental powers. Also to purchase hard liquor in Germany you have to be 18 yrs. of age.

I agree that 21 is way too long of a wait. But 15 is too young. I think 18 is perfect just like most of Europe. At 18 you are alowed to do everthing else and are considered an adult so why not be responsible for alcohol?

Wow, back around the late 60's and early 70's Nebraska tried lowering the drinking age (somewhat in response to children being drafted into the military so we could feed the Viet Nam fighting machine) and it resulted in a huge increase in fatal motor vehicle crashes, criminal behavior among those in their late teens, etc.

IMO no one should drink before the age of 21, nor should they be allowed to serve in the military prior to the age of 21.

Hang on to your buttons! A draft is coming soon unless we get a new sec of defense!

Because at age 15 teenagers are still growing, irresponsible
and love to experiment. If they make alcohol legal for
15 year olds, then we will have more problem-teenagers to put next to the amount that already exists.

I wish that they would raise the drinking age requirement, considering your brain is still expanding until the average age of 24. However, to be realistic, I don't believe that it is ever going to matter what the age restriction is, there is always going to be people that drink before they're of age.

If people are not mature enough to handle alcohol at 21 they sure as hell aren't going to be able to handle it at 15.

yes, we should let 15 year olds drink and give them driving privileges and let them have weapons too, and no curfews and they should have sex whenever, wherever and with whomever they chose. Because at 15 they are so very smart!

Get real
