A Brit wrote: "Chavez should give lessons in public speaking. His appearance was like a clap of thunder; waving Chomsky with one hand and pummeling Bush with the other. He managed to heap more muck on "Guantanamo Nation" than anyone since Harold Pinter gave his blistering Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech on 12-7-05. That’s when Pinter said:

'The crimes of the United States have been systematic, constant, vicious, remorseless, but very few people have ever talked about them. You have to hand it to America. It has exercised quite a clinical manipulation of power worldwide while masquerading as a force for universal good. It is a brilliant, even witty, highly successful act of hypnosis.'"

Why couldn't Bush debate?
Thoughtful comments and no anger, please.

Bush was likely in the pub having a beer - He could not care less what the guy had to say and there is n o way on earth bush's handlers are going to let him liten to things that confuse him let alone let him participate in a debate that hasn't been scripted.

Yes the points Cavez made are acurate hence the "nervous giggles" that were heard in the room through his speech.

But don't you get it ?
The American public is never going to believe it the media will never cover it with any degree of seriousness and there is no room for inteligent truth .

When British and Canadian forces walked into the concentration camps and saw what was going on the German public didn't believe us - we shoved them in for a tour they thought we did it We showed them film footage they still didn't buy it . There are those out there that still don't buy it. It is exactly this attitude that allows certain members of the US government to do anything. The media will only pick up the most insane sounding sound bites possible and play that over and over.

The war for independant thought is over and the war of the media is over the American public is completely won over by an evil corrupt minority that has a lot of money . The war is over get that really well into you - the rest of what you are seeing is the formality of it all .....death torture the loss of rights etc

They learned to well from the crazy wallpaper hanger who never made it past Cpl the public does not war but fear will cause them to go and to fight The bigger the lie the more likely it is that people will believe it - and finnally if you haven't figured out who I am quoting yet What good luck it is for leaders that men don't think - Adolf Hitler

Exploiting and twisting the natural emotions of men isn't that hard when you control the information flow. If I told you your mother/gradfather was doing such horrible things what would your reaction be - would you look ? Would you punch me out and think no more of it?

Look at the past 50 yrs plus of education it is training to perfom a task not to promote thought. Look at the media - news and war is entertainment now. Look at what Ceasar said "give them bread and circuses and they will not notice the disrepair of the roads and the aquaduct" .

Thinking is asking Who what where when why and how - The media and the school has spoon fed generations so they didn't have to do that for themselves. They are taken by the hand and lead they will never look at your web site with a sense of curiousity and of "could this be" they will only see the opposing footbal team and boo -

Bush has nothing to hide from. Chavez is a an egotistical idiot whose so-called speech does not deserve a response from Bush. He is not worthy.

Maybe Mr. Pinter should focus on the destructive and inhumane dictatorships of the world before making his envy of the U.S. so obvious to us all.

Mr. Pinter is a foolish man who has eyes, yet does not see.

No anger whatsoever, just straight and to the point.

They weren't suppose to debate,he had spoke earlier . And if you are an American you should be supportive of our nations leader whether you like him or not ,do you let people come in your home and talk bad about your family or parent,no you wouldn't and this is no different. We want have to wait to be attacked by another nation we will stand by and invite then in and let them. If you cant respect this country and what we stand for get the HELL OUT.

I had a higher opinion of Chavez before his speech, and his name calling just brought him down to the level of a school yard bully! Why would you say Bush is hiding? Maybe he was home watching TV and seeing the speech in Ottawa, Canada where President Karzai was doing his best convincing gullible Canadians they are doing the right thing by sacrificing their young men in war in Afghanistan to fight the war on Terror. I would rather we fight the war on global warming!

I looked at the article you put up and it seemed all opinion. Nothing wrong with opinion but I have heard all of it before. Where is your proof that the U.S. is manipulating the world. We have spent tons of our own blood and money to liberate and feed milions all over the world.

I love how you try to qualify your source as a "brit" as if that gives them some sort of credence...

Thanks for the link to the anti-American, propaganda news site. It really shows how useless your opinions are.
