I know everyone is different, I just want to know on average what everyones time frame is. How long are you in the manic/depressed stage? And what is the time frame you are stable? About how many cycles do you go through a year? For anyone who knows or has this disorder.

I was diagnosed as being bipolar...my moods bounced by the SECOND. One second i was ok, the next i was either screaming, crying, or cutting...i would never be "fine" for a complete day. They say it can be days, weeks, months, or even years w/out a "bad" episode.

This varies a whole lot more than hair color! There is no "average cycle". Sometimes the manic phase may last but a week or so, sometimes for up to a year.
Bipolar needs to be monitored by frequent check-ups by mental heath professional, with medication adjusted as needed.

I'm not bipolar, but am very familiar with the disorder, and have watched the damage it can do to families.

Depends on the person, depends on if they're on meds, and it depends on if they take their meds like they're suppose to.
