BUT in that they CAN cross the border and enter the USA. And if they can do that then the terrorist can get to the States either. Your opinion????

No polititian, of any party, is EVER going to take the illegal immigration problem seriously unitl there has been a mushroom cloud over some U.S. city.
Until then, they are going to place bandaids over wounds that require complicated surgury, just like they have been doing. That way they can fool people into thinking that they did something for the patient, which in this case is our immigration policies. If they dared to try the surgury option, the patient might get worse or die, and nobody that we have elected wants to take that responsibility. Every president we've had since there was a border has simply passed the problem on to the next president, who didn't do anything more than his successors. All any of them have done is try to placate their constituents with meaningless legislation that either doesn't fix the problem or doesn't get enforced.

You are right. The terrorist can enter legally or illegally and through any border they wish. But in this forum, the only illegal immigrant are the MEXICANS. For some reason they are picked to be the scape goat of all immigrants.

Both are equally a part of the problem. Illegal immigrants and terrorists. They are both a threat to national security. Seal the border! Get the illegals out - deport them as they are found! No amnesty, ever again!

I think one of our many problems is that we don't have our military defending our borders. In the "War' against terrorism" it seems like our goverment has forgotten the most important thing to protect and that is the country. But it is not surprising since the goverment could careless about defending its country than "helping" other countries. By allowing anyone to cross over the border and enter America is the same as welcoming terrorists with open arms.

Fantastic point. It is exactly why we are NO safer than we were before 9/11 Anyone who says we are needs a checkup from the neck up. you still do not have to have passports for Canada either so they can come in that way as well. Though if people dont wake up and realize that MS-13 which is made up of mostly illegal immigrants are a bigger threat than anything the middle east has to offer right now were in big trouble.

The problem is the employment of illegals.You will never seal our borders if terrorist want to enter that way.There are thousands of terrorist groups in Canada. In 80's Regan gave citizenship to all illegals. Neither he nor Democrats did much to stop this problem, and someday we will be hit again by some group slipping into the country.

esThe real problem of illegal immigrants is Americans hiring illegal immigrants to get cheap labor-if no one hired there'd be no advantage of coming here. Can't compare to Terrorists who want to do damage from inside this country for can't be crossing any border on the run etc carrying explosives-too dangerous and if caught by border patrol with explosives they'll go to jail---they have to absorb themselves into American society where they can move freely,communicate,prepare ,get supplies to make explosives and so forth

Illegals are driving down wages and draining public services. Southern Cali has several ERs that went under because of this.
As for borders. You do have a good point. But we are never going to be able to seal our borders. Terrorists are already among us and even home grown. The answer is good intelligence, good survelience, and taking out those terrorist sponsors in other countries.

The terrorists that destroyed the world trade center and pentagon were here LEGALLY . They did NOT sneak in here. THEY HAD VISAS. These people are very smart.Our own citizens have attacked us, again the Oklahoma federal building bombing was carried out by people born on THIS soil.
