Yes thank you for getting off immigration and getting to a REAL issue. Yes , if you don't have health insurance it will cost you a lot of money you will go into serious debt. God forbid you become chronically ill. They aren't allowed to turn anyone away by law. However you have to wait longer. If you pay for medical services out of your pocket you PAY MORE than an insurance company would. Insurance companies receive huge discounts.
For the uninsured a prescription of Tylenol 3s can cost you $ 50.00 for like ten pills. While someone with insurance or medicaid & care might pay $2- 4 dollars.
When one person gets sick it affects everyone, right you are.
Not all illegal immigrants are on state assistance.
The people who are often can't help it.
Its often the young people in a country who have jobs that do not provide health coverage and who don't live at home with mommy and daddy. Maybe that is not you , but why don't you think about other people besides yourselves for a change.

Every one over the age of 65 automatically goes on medicare. It is the govt. program for the elderly. The program that you are ranting about is Medicaid. I am a nurse and Medicaid is abused in this country. It was intended originally to be a TEMPORARY support syatem for people who need it, not a life style and a permit to have free medical care at other hard working taxpayers expense. If you are young and health and can work then you should be doing so, not riding the coat tails of those of us who are and do.

Medicare is medical insurance provided to people on Social security retirement and those that have been disabeld for 2 years. This is a federal program

Medicaid for is for the poor, this is a state program.

So, what are you asking?

Every person in this country would have free health insurance if our taxes weren't spent on illegals. That tax money could go towards American citizens health care. Also if An American doesn't pay for their heallth care it is Americas problem. WE will deal with it. We don't need non-citizens to accumulate to our problems. If it is life threatening yes illegals should be helped and then deported.

Medicare is a welfare program and a program for essentially uninsurable seniors.

In this country most people don't sign up for government benefits just because they are qualified. Most would be ashamed to. Most consider it a matter of pride not to be a burden, but to be self sufficient.

I would never judge another legal resident who took benefits they were entitled to, you can only see the level of need if you are the one living the life. However, I have been 'qualified' to take benefits before but never would have, from revulsion at the idea.

Those who are not entitled to them and take them anyway are not sympathetic figures to us, at all.

bottom line....Illegal immigrants need to be allowed to buy health insurance...or be put on someone else's health insurance. Mexico needs to offer some kind of affordable health care to its people.
