two very devout Catholics, who had been dating for several years, were out driving in a desolate area in the country one day when their car broke down. as the only mechanic within 100 miles of the town was busy with another job, the two decided they would have to spend the night at a motel. there was only one room available, with only one bed 'well,' said the boyfriend to the girlfriend, 'it looks like we are going to have to sleep in the same room tonight. I don’t think the good lord or our parents will mind if we share the same bed, just this once.'
'okay,' replied the girlfriend. they got ready for bed, and each took their agreed place at either extreme of the bed. ten minutes later the girlfriend said, I’m really cold.'
'okay, I’ll get you s blanket,' said the boyfriend and he got out of bed and found a blanket in the cupboard. ten minutes later the girlfriend said, I’m still really, really cold.'
'okay, then, I’ll get you another blanket,' said the boyfriend, getting up once more to fetch a blanket from the closet . ten minutes later the girlfriend said, ‘look, I’m still freezing. I don’t think the lord would mind if we acted as man and wife for just one night.’
‘you’re probably right,’ said the boyfriend. ‘get up and get your own damn blanket.’
