Sure!
That's the beauty of hypocrisy.

First off, there is a lot of controversy over whether or not the "recently threatened to use them" statement ever took place. The jury is still out on that one.
If it did, as a reasonable person, I can understand the duress and anger under which it was spoken - immediately following 9/11.
That being said, how do you REALLY and TRULY feel about a country controlled by a fanatical despot having nuclear weapons?
Or a country that supports, supplies, sympathizes or trains terrorists?
Or a country whose leader not only claims the Holocaust never happened but publicly declares a neighboring country has no right to exist and must be annihilated?
And, do you really think the United States isn't responsible and intelligent enough to maintain its nuclear arsenal as a defensive deterrent?
As for the the time we did use the atomic bomb, my father was among several hundred thousand other troops readying for an invasion of the Japanese mainland - it didn't happen - can you possibly guess why?
In answer to your question, yes, we not only should preach to them - we are obligated to preach to them - in the name of world peace and civilized people everywhere.

You need to take a trip to Hawaii and visit the U.SS Arizona...Look down at it and see what was done to wake the sleeping giant. What your question implies is obvious. Mabey you should move to Lebanon or join one of the more radical organizations who would not even care if they toasted your family for the sake of some evil doctrine that they are Possesed by!!!
Please...get a life!...when an enemy won't surrender then you have to do what you must you do it. Those who gave all in the 1940's saved the whole world from tyrany that you cannot imagine and remember this...If the US hadnt been involved then the mebers of the Hitlers Party would have made those wmd. They were working on it and thankfully the U S was first.

To answer the question no. Should we strive to keep WMD's out of the hands of other nations...I think Yes.
We are in such more danger than we really understand. I worry constantly that some Chechen rebels or some Osama raiding party will try to seize a ballistic missile site in Kazakstan or deep inside Russia and just hot wire the thing. They are still all of them programmed to hit US or Western European targets.
We really have an obligation to protecting ourselves to limit WMD's as much as possible...within the limits of good common sense...which seems lacking in the world today.

Please cite the "recent threat" of WMD usage...
And yes, we should preach to others. Please remember the context of your references. The usage in 1945 put a quick end to the most destructive war in all of human history, and our current stockpile poses a threat to no one, as the other countries who possess nuclear arms all fall under the umbrella of either "mutually assured destruction" or are allies.
Iran is a country who's leaders have openly called for the destruction of Israel, so only a fool would try to make a reasonable comparison with our situation.
In fact, I guess this just happened when you posted your question...

Yes, if the country that used them did so to stop a nation that was destroying its part of the world and bent on doing the same to us. Yes, if the we send millions of our young men to die in order to end nazism, facism, and dictators who use WMDs on their own people. Yes, if that country only threatens to use them in limited cases for good reasons.

no but no such country exists, if you're implying America, it did use them once and because of the destruction it caused every nation is trying to prevent the same from happening again, unfortunately there are countries like Iran who if they got hold of such weapons are crazy enough to use it, therefore we should preach against such nations, thus you're question doesn;t apply to America because it hasn't used them recently

Why not? I think the word "preach" should be replaced with "enforce" under the above circumstances.

It depends on who you are talking about...
If you are talking about the USA then we can absolutely
preach to others and if they do not listen then we should
make a pre-emptive military strike against those who refuse to listen.
