Yes. I got married in Vegas four years ago on 10/01. We went to The Monte Carlo Hotel. they have a beatuiful chapel and it is cheap. Other hotel offer similar packages as Monte Carlo, but they were the cheapest. Our wedding included:
Chapel
Minister
flowers
boquets (me & Maid of Honor)
Boutiners (spelling?)
music of your choice
video
pictures w professional photographer
champange
All for $430.00. We paid $120 extra to have the photographer escort us around the hotel grounds and take more pictures. she took 100 shots and i got to choose 20 for that price. More were extra.
After the wedding, we took everyone to the buffet in the hotel. It was GREAT. They bloceked off a section just for our party (we had 25 people) and gave us 2 waiters to get out drinks. the buffet cost $10 per person.
Like I said, there are LOTS of hotel with gorgeous chapels. Just don't do the Eiffel Tower wedding. (Paris Hotel) If it is windy they will close the tower. (it closes a lot) You will NOT get a refund for weather related problems and you will wind up in the chapel at the hotel. Good luck.

It's in the eye of the beholder. If you're extremely flexible and you don't mind having no say in anything, then go for it. From what I have seen, it does tend to satisfy the "getting married in a chapel but we're not religious at all" thing. Personally, if I'm not religious, the last place I would want to get married is in a chapel of any kind. But non-chapel venues are fairly limited, even at most of the hotels, other than the courthouse. So you have to decide what works best for you. If you're a control freak and want to plan the details yourself, Vegas may not be the best place for you.

Not if you are serious about your marriage.
Vegas is the marriage goofball capital of the world. Thats where Britney Spears got married in the middle of the night and then changed her mind the next day.
Lots of drunken spur of the moment marriages in Vegas, a real Clown Convention.
Now there are some very legitimate marriages in Vegas I suppose. But, boy I wouldn't want to carry that stereotype around on my shoulders.
Get married elsewhere and honeymoon there. Have the bachelor or bachelorette party there. But get married someplace else!

A friend of mine was seriously thinking about getting married in Vegas. It is great if you don't want any sort of religious ceremony and want things done easy - many hotels and resorts have complete wedding packages that take care of everything. The downside is that you usually have next to no say in stuff. You might get to pick flowers, but you might not. Same with who does the DJing for the reception.

Cliche aside, I don't discount a Vegas wedding. It's worth looking into.

It really depends. If both of you love the city of Las Vegas, want to arrange it fast without drawing much attention, I'm sure it's a great place to get married.

My husband and I were married there 12 years ago. We eloped. We loved our wedding! It wasn't about gambling, the casinos or partying...it was about us.

We didn't do the flowers or anything. We went to the courthouse to get the license and then to a JP in his office. It was just him and me. We were married at 2AM.

Today, we still look back like it was right for us. Neither of us wanted the big wedding, lots of people. We just wanted us. That's what we have, still today. And, yes, we take our marriage seriously and are more deeply in love today than we were those many years ago.

The wedding isn't what's important - the marriage is. Why spend 6 or 9 months and $10k planning one day...why not spend 6 or 9 months planning your life together?

You'll love it.

Why would anyone want to get married and start their life in a place where everything is a gamble?

Well Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos thought it was a great place to get married!

If you want to elope. Personally I wouldn't do it because my family is very important to me and it would kill me if all of them couldn't attend. My older sister got married there and nobody was able to go-- my dad wasn't even there to walk her down the aisle. :(
