Wow!! Must be tired, my question kinda lost it there at the end didn't it!!! :) Should read "How did the social custom in which wearing white....become the standard???

I wear whatever color I like no matter the time of season too, have often just wondered about this particular custom and how it came about.

I have had the fact that I am wearing white in winter pointed out to me too!

I dunno, but that is no longer a fashion rule so i wouldn't worry about it. some people still do but its not taboo to wear white in winter.

I think they said you shouldn't wear white after labor day because white is a summer color. So in the fall you should be wearing like browns/oranges. Like in winter you should wear red/green. But now I don't think anyone cares. They sell all colors all year around. Just wear whatever you feel is comfortable.

Is it white clothes or just white shoes? I always thought it was you don't wear white shoes after Labor Day? Of course, I don't wear white shoes or white clothes anyway, so this doesn't really pertain to me. :)
