well for one of two reasons. Lots to do with personal space. Some people feel that if you are in their little personal space you have went too far, and others dont feel that barrier around them, so they dont get offeneded when you get that close. I saw a special about it a few years ago about how a man from a different country would go and stand right next to a person from his country and they would stand there but he would go to stand next to an american and they would *flip out* and actually give the guy a dirty look and THEN move awy so it is all about perception, culture, and what types of personal space issues we have or in some cases, dont have. Next time if you feel slighted, just smile, and say sometning nice like have a nice day as you pass by, and that will make that person aware of you, even if they had been wrapped in their own thoughts. Good Luck!

Yep, that happens every now and then. I guess they just think they're too good to move over a little as well, they want everyone else to move out of their way. Given that they see you of course. Occationally people can be a little absent minded, but I think most of the time they notice people and just think the others should be the ones moving. Rude, inconsiderate and selfcentered losers.

There are several possible reasons-but the best way that i have found to deal with people like that without starting a bunch of sh** is to stop and tell them " that wasn't fair, you didn't tell me this was a game of chicken" then go back to where you will meet them again and see if they move. Usually people will : A) laugh and realize that they were being rude and apologize . or B) get out of your way because they think you are crazy.

They're tuned out.

Rather than feel invisible, you can move aside while saying something friendly like, "cool jeans" as you pass, regarding their presence. At least you can know you did something to try and make a difference to this all too familiar situation.

Yup, it's called selfishness. That person believes there is no one around but themselves, or at least the people around should cow down to them.

Evenually, someone bigger and more selfish will knock them down, so don't sweat it, just stay out of the way and keep your eyes open.

Some people think life owes them something. They are very unhappy people. Just let them pass with out incident. Feel sorry for them because they will never know what it is to respect someone. They have no respect for themselves.

The world is full of jerks.

These are the same quality of people who have boom box cars, loud motorcycles, cars or trucks and rudely chat on their cell phone in a doctors office.

Don't you hate that!

I'm getting to where--if i see that they are not going to move an inch--I just ram my shoulder into them. They'll step aside for the next person, at least! ^_~

People dont have manners. Even if someone is rude to me, i still try to be polite hoping that it will make an impression and they will think next time they act.
