I gave it thought and, although there is an account of this in the Bible, I've never heard of anyone in modern times having a limb regrown.
On the other hand, I do know of a boy who had never had function of his legs since birth whose legs fully regenerated (with muscle, etc) so quickly that 30 minutes after a healing prayer, he was able to run.
I also know personally two men who have raised men from the dead (which, by my reckoning, trumps an amputee's limb regrowing!)
Why God would heal one person and not another is beyond human ability to know.

You've got to be kidding, God isn't going to regrow an amputee's arm, leg or anything else. He don't work that way. He has given man the technology to help with prosthesis'. It is very sad for a little boy to lose his leg, but, I'm sure the adult he is now knows it can't regrow. Some prayers, like that, he won't answer. Or at least He isn't gonna grow the guy a new leg. God listens to our prayers, but some, he doesn't think should be answered, like if we pray and ask for 10 million dollars, we have to be reasonable in our prayers.

If claims of God's ability and willlingness to perform miracles are based on the Bible, it seems that any explanations for when he chooses not to work miracles should also be biblical. But there aren't any. Why not? Why are believers left with the messy task of making excuses when their God fails to do what he said he would do? They don't trust themselves to know God except through the ancient writings of ancient prophets, but on this, they attempt to speak by their own authority. The cold hard truth is that miracles are in the mind of the beholder.

God does not give us everything that we ask Him for.
Many virtues can be gained by losing a limb or anything else for that matter, particularly humility in this case.
However, miracles do happen, they are just not reported on the news or by doctors at hospitals because there is no physical evidence that the act was from God of course.
Please read the story of Job in the Bible for a more detailed and lyrical answer to this question.

Why doesn't God heal everyone who asked it is either 1 of 3 reasons:
1. He can't heal: He is distant and not in our lives at all.
2. He chooses not to heal based on some criteria he has created.
3. There is no God.
It seems odd that If there is a God he would create a criteria for who to help when it is based on faith and guess work to meet the criteria. Being distant seems unlikely sense he is all powerful, all knowing, and Omnipotent that he is too distant to help.
If it was not so hard for us maybe we should consider this is no God.

because god is an asshole even asking for basic things like freedom to be cured of depression to be happy and have a life worth living etc. even the basic things he can answer he chooses not to and chooses for the rigtheous just to suffer more mainly because he just does not care about anyone. i am one of many who prayed time and time again worked my *** off just to have everything go south and continue to go that way and suffer in ways that i will never be able to heal from without gods help yet i still pray. stupid but hey hope is the only reason that keeps me going in this worthless world in the nightmare of a life i live in. i guess we are just better off on our own since god never really cared all that much for us to begin with.

For every bad action one gets certain reaction (karma). This is especially doubled for those who are religious and still do bad activity. So, one can pray like anything but the reaction cannot be brushed away.
Explanation: A knowledgeable, religious person is supposed to be in goodness and act properly. If he transgress the laws he knows he gets bigger reaction.
Chant Hare Krishna and be happy.

He doesn't have anything against any impairment. How do you know they are not serving the greater purpose in what you see as a curse. I have known a few and thank God for placing them in my life.

instead of pretending you know anything what so ever about god and what he does and is capable of, why don't you spend a few days of your life and read the NIV Bible. It's easy to read and understand and you won't embarrass yourself asking these sort of questions.

But a regenerated limb would be verifiable. Can't have that. Not when we can have urban legends instead.
