People in all walks of life do that. Have you ever been near the political forum on this site? It's even worse over there.

I can't really say that I have seen a case where a Christian called someone names in this forum, and I honestly don't recall anyone doing it in person either. I don't think that is a very polite thing to do whether you are Christian or not. But Christians are in most ways ordinary people, they just have a heart relationship with God. We make mistakes, too. As for telling people that they are going to hell, it may not seem polite to tell someone that, but it is still the truth. The Bible says that there is only one way of salvation, and that is by believing in Jesus Christ. He preached that people would go to hell if they rejected Him. This is what the Bible teaches. I think it is better to speak the truth to people so that they will know where they stand, and so that they can be motivated to make a decision for Christ. I don't go around telling everyone that they are going to hell. But if someone has heard the message of God's love and grace and mercy and still refuse, it is an important truth for them to know that there is hell for the unbeliever.

So you would say, "if God loves people so much, then why is He sending them to hell?" He's not. He sent Jesus to die on the cross so that they wouldn't have to. But if the drowning person doesn't grab the "life ring" when it is thrown to them, they still drown don't they? It's the same thing. God sent a Savior. It's up to the individual to grab hold of it. To alert them of the real danger that is facing them at the end of life is a courtesy, not a bashing. See the difference?

A hypocrite is an actor, someone who pretends to be something they are not. If a 'Christian' pretends to be something they are not, then they are not a Christian. A Christian is someone who acts like Christ. Christ was very honest with those who opposed him. He even called them names... "snakes and vipers, white washed sephecres" He saw them for what they were. Sometimes when sinners feel guilty, they may respond to the honesty of a Christian with anger and resentment. But inside, they know the truth. We are all sinners. Some are forgiven, and some are not. I want all sinners to be forgiven....and ready for heaven... You can go through all your life, doing what you want, and in the end discover you failed to prepare for eternity. If your 'friend' who is so honest with you about hell has offended you, remember, they just are thinking about the bigger picture...eternity. They don't want you to miss out on eternity with God and they love you enough to risk your wrath.

Power:: USA progressed because it had freedom of religion.
We were free to be creative, invent everything that has been invented from the planes,, trains and automobiles. Sewing machines. electricity, to computers. Why? It seems like by accident some of the other countries would invent something.
Those who were in power spent all their time and money making people believe in God the way they thought was right. Any freedom of thought they squelched, it looked like they might take away their power to control people. There moto: "We have to control people, their thinking, their conduct, their lives."
Some still do that. They have to say "In God we trust." By forcing people to do that does that make them trust in God more?
We have to make them pray in school> Does that make people closer to God to make them pray? Wouldn't God want you to pray because you want to? The Republicans are trying to destroy the ACLU because they said holiday tree not Christmas tree. Forcing people to call it a Christmas tree. When Jesus nor any of the apostles even heard of it. It was added 3 centuries later. What they really want to do is ruin the labor unions so big business gets cheep labor. It is control, power, you do what I say. Because the way i believe is the right way, because i say so. Look at the muslims, either you be muslim or you have to die. Do they have freedom to think? Feel? or even come up with an original thought. NO! Nothing has ever been invented in an Islamic country. Nothing!

My little children you don't know what abuse is anymore. Consider being burned at the stake, crucified upside down, thrown off the top of a building, beheaded and gutted in public. That's what early Christians suffered. Hell is terrible place, consider yourself lucky that someone cared enough about you to want to spare you the agony.

because if u are small minded enough to actually believe in a pack of lies, nicely wrapped in a leather bound encasing, that's as gold as shiney sh*t. then of course you will also be swept into the currant of hypocrisy; racism, sexism, and all those other slurs that are eloquently called -isms. bigotry is another word for simple-minded. its sad really because just think; every time u post a q'tion re;Christians they retaliate in the only way they can think of...usually.."you poo poo head, we right, u wrong na na na.." etc. They have the mental capacity for empathy of that of a child over the age of 3.

You'd be better off (and more accurate) to ask why some _people_ start abusing anyone who doesn't follow their way of life/beliefs. If you wanted to be honest I mean...

...or perhaps you wanted to be a hypocritical yourself?

well, you answered your own question here, but the fact is that Christians are both supposed to proselytize and to turn the other cheek when spurned. Hypocrite is a good word for those who don't do either.
