300 watts max per amp
2 channel = 2 speaker terminals
4 channel = 4 speaker terminals
mono = 1 speaker terminal
2 channel bridged = 1 channel
4 channel bridged = 2 channel
2 channel 300 watts is 150watts per channel max wattage so you are looking at 75watts per channel(ie per speaker)
i hope this helpes you out a little better

usually for an amp, if it show 300watts, that means the peak sound output of the amp is 300watts only, this doesn't means the rms is 300 watts. Also, 2 channels amp basically mean the amp can only amplify 2 speakers or woofers. 4 channels, you can amplify either 4 speakers or 2 speakers & 2 woofers. Don't connect 4 woofers to a 4 channel amp, the amp might not have the sufficient power. For mono blocks, this usually is a Class D product for Super bass kicking sound, usually people would use a double coil woofer for this. If you really want to know, you should ask a sound system shop for details.

No...that is what is considered total wattage for the whole amp, and depending what type and which series it may or may not be able to push it the way you want it. 2 channel amps are usually preferred for subs because they are more stable at lower ohm loads. A lot of the old fosgates especially could weld themselves to the frame of your car/truck before they melted down. Most of the time manufactures rate RMS bridged (4 channel to 2..or 2 to 1) (Mono whould just mean 1 channel) at the lowest rated ohm load an amp will handle..or claims it will handle. Some of the cheaper fosgates also have a tendency to distort when driven..so you may not even get the watts you want without sounding like total ***. Total Harmonic Distortion or THD is acceptable at %.05, that is where it starts becoming audilble. If you already have a bunch of distortion in your system ie..crappy deck or RCA's then you won't be able to push them as hard. Preamp output voltage on the deck also plays a role in this...Most generally it is reccomended to have at least 3/4 volts of preamp output voltage running through the RCA's

whats a rockford? is it 300 watts rms? what do you mean 2 channels or 4 channels? if its 2 channels thats not as many channels as 4 channels. more channels is not always better. mono block is used to block monos out in the moonshine.

if it says 300watts it is the peak power of all channels. 2 channels can have 1 speaker in bridged and 2 normal or bridged depending on the amp.4 channels can have 4 speakers hooked up or 2-4 speakers bridged it also deepened on the amp.

Nope. But that would be nice though huh? ....lol..... 300 watts is the total power. Two channels means that it can amplify two incoming channels that leave to two speakers, or one channel to one speaker if you "bridge" the amp. A four channel amp is cool to use when you want to amplify your front left and right, and your rear left and right speakers using one amp.

If they don't specify "per channel" then assume is total.
