First remember this answer is from a older man that probably has children a lot older than you.
Having intercourse is a major step in a persons life and one that can affect your whole life. Make sure you really love the person, normally I would suggest waiting until your married but rarely does that happen in todays world.
Their will be a moment of pain but nothing like your afraid there will be. In fact if there was not enjoyment it would never happen again.
The closeness that you feel or I should say the love you have for the person will make a big difference.

Yes it will hurt, no matter how gentle he is. You are trying to get muscles to stretch in ways they never have before. It will hurt the first dozen or so times.
If you are scared, please don't do it...this is one choice you can never take back. I've heard a lot of women say that they wish they had waited, but not a single one say they wished they had lost their virginity sooner.
Don't do it to get him to love you or to keep him - good relationships are not based on sex - they are based on friendship and honesty. If you are good friends, tell him you are scared - he might be just as worried as you are.
If you do decide to go ahead, be safe.

you don't mention your age, but I would wait until the time is right to lose your virginity. Don't just do it to do it. Your first time should be with someone special, like your husband, because when you think back to your first time, you don't want that memory tainted with the memory of some guy who just wanted to add you as a notch on his belt. Waiting is definitely OK! Besides, if you wait, and you are in a serious relationship that you know will last, then your 'lover' will be loving and tender, and there should be little to no pain.

Sex doesnt hurt for the first time. You just need to take it slow the first time. Make sure you use protection and be in love with the guy.. Ignore the nasty answers in here.

Yes, it hurts the first time, but it's not agonizing or anything. Just make sure you are old enough, he really loves you and preferably you're married. You'll NEVER forget your first time. My first time was 15 years ago and I still remember it like it just happened yesterday. Don't screw it up or it will haunt you the rest of your life!

if you're scared, why do it? i assume that you're young and single, because if you are an adult and married, sex wouldn't be an issue to you. just like what the other people here say, wait till you get married. sex is not only about the feeling. you must also be ready mentally to do this. good luck, and just wait.

God set things in a specific order when He created us.
Try thinking of life as a book...
Sex belongs between the chapters titled "MARRIAGE" and "LIFE TOGETHER."

Don't. Why would you want to, if your scared. Don't do it for peer pressure. Its not worth it, when you grow up and fall in love for real, it will be different.
