I always thought it was someone who tells the teacher or parent EVERY single time their "friends" were doing something against the rules. My daughter says a tattle tale is someone who makes up stories to get someone in trouble. Anyone know for sure?

I think it is a child who tells what their sibling or friend is doing wrong. I have 5 kids ranging from 3 to 7th grades. I know what it is for them to tattle all the time. We now have a tattle tale box for them to write it down and we deal with it at the end of each week. If you want to tattle and the other person is not bleeding or dying, tell it to the box.

Tattle tales don't make up stories, they catch other people doing things that they shouldn't be doing, and then runs and tells someone on them. Like if you catch your best friend cheating on a test, and then go up to the teacher and tell her that they were cheating...that's a tattle tale. Nobody likes a tattle tale.

I always thougth a tattle tale was like a dobber. Telling teachers or parents everything often when rules aren't being broken just to get someone in trouble so they look good

I agree with you, the little snippets that tell everything they hear to everybody that will listen are Little Tattle Tales (shame on them, unless it is a major crime or something that should really be reported).
The other little @@##$$%%!! are out to cause trouble.
I have been there. I had to go to Court to prove that a little @@tch lied to a teacher about my son! It was shown in Court that she made up the accusation because she was jealous of another girl!

its someone who tells a teacher when someone else is doing something wrong! snitches etc.
its not good to be a tattle tale, definitely warn your daughter about that, however, its sometimes hard for a child to distinguish between right and wrong- and if she tells a teacher that someone has been punched (for example) the 'puncher' might be angry at your daughter for 'telling.' Children are easily confused and it isn't good to bottle things up inside.

A tattle tale just simply tells on some one a snitch.

This sounds like an under elderly question. in case you're 13 how do you no longer be attentive to what a tattle tale is And if my pals can not recognize me adequate to apply my genuine call if that's what I desire than i do no longer prefer pals like that.
