learn to walk your dog and not let your dog walk you. I know, sounds like something a jerk would say but its true. When you take your dog out, yeah, the first 10-20 steps is them eager to see the world but after that, you need to set the standard and let them know that "YOU are walking them and they are NOT walking you". Keep the dog at your side not in front of you. When they try to run away or pull on the lead, either you do a quick jerk of the lead and collar or you turn around and make them turn around too by walking a few steps. Also, what you could try, i had to do this with one of my dogs years ago, is put on the collar and the lead (leash) and go to a street corner and have her sit while you just stand there. You both will see cars pass by and eventually she will get used to it. Do this for only a couple minutes though (5-10) because dogs just like humans can get bored and find ways to entertain themselves. You might need to do this a couple times (2-10) depending on the dog. As a last resort, or first if you like, you could purchase or borrow an electric collar so that everytime she tries to run away after a car, you just give her a quick little shock. Not the best way but effective.

Obedience training is a must with German Shepherds! If you do not do something about their energy and boredom, they quickly find things to do. . .yours just happens to chase cars. Vail had some really good ideas about the car chasing problem . . .
Below are some links that may give you some ideas on how to keep your girl busy! Good luck! German Shepherds are wonderful dogs!

leash her and take her to the edge of your yard. When she starts to step over her boundary line or off of your property give the leash a good jerk and tell her NO.Then walk her away from the line.
Let her wander around her new territory with you following and every time she gets close to where she need not be give the leash a jerk and say NO.
You'll need to repeat this exercise several times a day for awhile.By the end of her first week with you she should start to shy away from the end of her new territory.
Also when you walk her and she bolts after cars that pass jerk the leash and tell her NO.
Breaking her from leaving your yard will be easier than breaking her from trying to chase cars on walks so don't get discouraged and give up.She's the perfect age for training right now.And if you play with her for half an hour to get rid of all that pent up energy before you start teaching her anything she'll pay attention to you much better.

Oh they are the two captivating. The Belgian Shepherd is somewhat unusual to actual see around and extra human beings will ask what breed it extremely is. yet as stupid! stated, do somewhat analyze . i think that's what you're attempting to do by asking right here. i'm so happy you haven't any longer long previous for the staffie ! it is so boring to have a similar breed as all people else.

it might be that she wasnt really trained by her previous owner. KEEP her on a leash! i just got a 3 month old german sheperd and i have spoken to alot of trainers and if you dont start now,,when they get older, you wont have much control over them and she could get hurt or end up dead.

Don't let her out of the back yard or off the leash. Problem solved. Or, she'll end up hit like my son's border collie. Lucky to be alive and well, scared to death to go near cars ever again.
