Most certainly...it happens everyday all across America! He is not confused...that's the excuse they use to do it.
I personnaly know a church minister (adored) man that killed his wife and was photographed carrying his bible when they had to let him out for inconclusive evidence,. They finally got him when he tried to hire his cell mate to knock off the guy who helped him get rid of the evidence. He's in Soldad prison and was allowed to get married if you can believe it. His excuse for the murder of his wife and mother of his two kids..."she was a bytch."

He wasn't happy with wife and family. Only HIM at fault? If so, then move on. If both recognize faults in themselves and needs of the partner, perhaps hope. Ridiculous not to totally forgive, if you want to give the marriage a second chance. If grudges are going to be held, DIVORCE and hopefully both find happy lives. An unhappy marriage is worse for the children than no marriage.

Perhaps he's allowed himself to be seduced by secret sins... like porn, lust, a criticizing attitude and unthankfulness.

I believe that many of us--probably most of us--- don't feel the full realization of all of our blessings, like health, peace, freedom. We take these things for granted, and before you know it, you are dissatisfied with other things, like the stability in your marriage and family life. It's easy to do because these things take work, and we get tired. And of course, the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence, right? But it seldom is.

It reminds me of a quote attributed to Solon, the Athenian lawmaker: "If all our misfortunes were laid in one common heap, whence everyone must take an equal portion, most people would be contented to take their own and depart."

Hoping the best for you...

Because we all sin & fall short of the glory of God. This also happened in my church years back, it was devestating to all. Sin goes on everywhere, even in church. Unfortunatly thats why others say there are so many hypocrites in the church, it's very sad. All I know is that we need to pray for all involved.

Because he is a fallible human.... going to church dosnt make him perfect nor mean he will always make the proper choices.
He is no different from anyone else who is tempted to do something and gives in to that temptation....the only place his faith comes in to play in the situation is that by going to church he has the knowledge that God loves him and will forgive him.. if he seeks that out and returns to God.

Maybe because he is honestly confused. Religion can't be held responsible for his feelings, though. Just because he was 'raised in the church' does not mean that he can't be just as confused as anyone else.

Have you ever heard that old quote that goes something like "Going to church does not make you a Christian any more than going to a garage makes you an automobile?" I think it applies to this.

You better believe it can happen. My bible-totin' husband left me for my niece, 5 yrs. ago. An I'm not s**ting you!
And we're not a white-trash family. At least we weren't, till he did that! Hang in there girl, I did, and so can you.
Takes time, and draw on the strength of your friends and (of course) GOD!!!

Just because he was raised in the church does not mean he puts God first. He chose to be selfish and disobedient to God.

It takes two to tango, or what is the other side of the story.

Wives or husbands can be very insensitive, and need a lot of advise.
