I really like this guy. He is smart POPULAR. That is the prob. I can't ask a guy who is popular. He will proably not like me. I'm not a nerd or anything just well,....typical. How do I ask him out?

Who cares about labels. Popular, geek, stuck up, yada yada yada.
You be yourself and not let someone else label you nor you label yourself.
Who says you can't ask a guy out who is "popular"? There is no rule to that. If someone says there is, then they are extremly dumb.
If you don't hang with this guy, then go hang with him. Need to get comfortable and friendly with him first. Then see if he likes you and shows interest in you. If he talks to you and have no issue you hanging around, there you go. That is the first sign of him "accepting" you for you. Not because you are some label.
Keep your eyes opened for other "fish in the sea and shells on the sand" too.

I wouldn't ask a guy out that wasn't my type first of all,and not because he's cute or popular either.It sounds like you have nothing in common already. The real important part of a person is on the inside not on the outside.

You don't ask him out. If he doesn’t approach you, move on. As a woman why would you want to be on the begging end of a relationship? Why is it that human females are the only female species ON THE PLANET that will put herself in the position of wooing a male? Even a female BIRD knows that the male has to create an environment, woo her, win her, etc. It's a fact that men don't value women they get easily and without effort. Even if they SAY that they "like it when" a woman asks them out...that doesn't mean that they will truly value, appreciate, work to win the heart of that woman. Why should they? You need to be yourself. That is the most important part. Times have changed and it is okay to go after a guy yourself. So if you see a guy you really like, why not ask him out. It really is okay to do it that way now. So do not be shy, just get yourself a boy friend and it will get easier for the next time you need to find yourself one.

Doing it online or over the phone or in a note might work if you are super frightened. If not, get him alone and ask him out. It will be less embarassing than in a group, and this way he wont say no because his friends are watching. Who knows, maybe he likes you but is afraid of what you, your friends, or his friends will say!

you seem fairly young, maybe insecure, maybe thinking that hes too good for you in a way. Just ask him out, the worse that can happen is rejection, but theres so many more guys out there so I wouldnt worry too hard.

just be friends with him first..like just step by step..like make friends with his friends and then keep moving until you guys are friends and then you can know what type of girls he likes then try to ask him out. just be like "hey, you want to hang out this weekend?"
