This is definitely a question for your ob/gyn doctor. You are caring for two people at the moment. You and your unborn baby. For Gosh Sake's don't take anyone's advice via the Internet. All my have good intentions. But seriously this is a question for your Doctor. Good Luck

I could suggest a number of medications that have worked for me in the past but I'm not sure about how safe they will be for your baby. Lexapro does not cause any problems, so you are probably better off sticking with that at least until the baby is born. Then you have to consider whether or not to breast feed since some of the medications are excreted in breast milk. These are questions you need to be asking your doctor. If you don't feel you can or don't trust your doctor's answers, find a new doctor.

Effexor. Ive been on it for about 4 years. I also have a healthy 3 year old. I took it during my entire preganacy.Try it. Ive never tried lexapro, but Ive tried zoloft, paxil, and wellbutrin. Wellbutrin is also presibed to people to help quit smoking. And thats just what I did was quit smoking--though the drug made me antsy and most of the time I had a short fuse with my bfriend. I went back on effexor. Good luck.

Talk to your OB/GYN about it!! You should have mentioned it when you first became pregnant, just to make sure the medication wouldnt have any adverse effects on the baby. The best thing you can do is talk to your doctor right away about this. I took depression medication when i was pregnant, but I got it approved by my Dr first.
