gilligan346,
Whoa! That's a whopper of a question!
HEBREWS! Yeah, that's it. Anywhere you see a paragraph that looks like a poem, or a reference, look it up in the Old Testament. It's all there. AND it's really cool.
After you finish that, go with Romans. Dude, what a TRIP!

Daniel is relevant for today. The Chittim in Daniel are, I believe,
the United States today.
There is some stuff in Ezekiel too, I think, that not to many people see. Isaish 24 has a waY of explaining to me what is going to happen. The Earth will have a physical upheaval, which will create spiritual repercussions. It's not the End of the WORLD!
But there will be a major Battle over this world because of
the spiritual things this catastrophe forces out.

Of the prophets, I would say Isaiah. Daniel is quite a complicated place to begin. If you do not insist on beginning with a prophet then I would personally start with Genesis. It is more captivating and there are several prophesies if you read closely.
Another alternative is Deuteronomy. It is the most frequently quoted OT book in the NT, with hundreds of citations.
But, again, if you are interested in the prophets only, then Isaiah is your book. Don't get hung up on deutero-Isaiah theories. Isaiah is a true prophet who tells us events that came to pass long after he died.

I suggest that you start reading from the Book of Psalms, or the Book of Isaiah, if you have done very little reading in the Old Testament. Of course any of the Word of God is good and beneficial to read; but if you are desiring to read from the Old Testament, These two books are probably my favorites. The Book of Genesis is also very interesting; for it tells us the story from the very beginning. May God bless you.

Where is God leading you to begin? If no particular passage, then Genesis Chapter 1. I wouldn't suggest that you begin with the prophets if you haven't read the first 5 books, and understand about all of that.

Isaiah is where you might start for prophesies relating to Christ, but you will also find that David's Psalms held much prophesy as well. Genesis also hold many types and shadows of Jesus Christ. Genesis 1:2, the light is Jesus and the dark is Satan.

I like Isaiah....lots of Prophecies about Christ's first coming which as so specific that it is easy to see how they were fulfilled by Jesus.

Depends on what you are trying to learn about. Why not read it all. Just a tip - The books in the Old Testament are not necessarily in chronological order.
