Okay, there's that guy I like in school. He's in a few of my classes, but I only get to talk to him in one of them. He's my best friend's cousin as well. My best friend says he usually only likes preppy girls. and well, I am not preppy at all. Should I tell my best friend I like his cousin? (my best friend is a guy btw). Or is this just hopeless?

How much do you like this guy? Would it be enough to date him if it meant losing your best friend? Since, they are relatives, when the two of you break up, your best friend will have to take sides, and he might not take yours.
If you are willing to risk it, I would say, wait until just before Thanksgiving. If nothing has happened before then. If your best friend doesn't mind, you could ask him to talk to his cousin over the holidays and call ou before school starts up again. This way you can be prepared to celebrate or die of a broken heart. :)
Your best friend might not want the two of you to date either. Don't hold it against him, but don't let him control the two of you. Be forewarned that if you do date his cousin like this, he may not want to be around either of you.
Or, you could just let things happen. See if his cousin talks to you himself, without an prodding. I think a lot of it depends on whether you would risk losing your friend.

OK... here's how you get the guy. Ask your friend in a casual way if his cousin was always this cute!! Chances are that he'll tell him abt tht and he'll be intrigued. Wait a day or two.... then go and say hi to him. Wait one more day... and then tell ur friend tht u have a crush on his cousin..!! If ur friend is not the jealous type, this will work out great. I would go for it. He may like preppy girls because he has not gotten to know you. I love a good steak, but don't want to eat it for every meal. He may like a little variety too.

Talk to him more and he won't like u becasue ur preppy, i kno this sounds sooooo corny but he'll like who's inside of you, if u get the vibe that he might be feelin u then talk to him a little more, and more etc. He'll like u soon enough, and please don't be someone ur not

I Say just jump in his face and say what you have on your mind. Telling him wussup from YOUR mouth is what he wants to hear. He don't wanna hear it from some other person. Keep it real, and if that doesn't work then forget about it. Plenty other guys in the world

tell ur friend. its a nice way to get someone to do the "dirty" work for you. and if he doesnt like you, it wont hurt as much hearing it from a friend
