Have had to charge system once each year. This year it won't hold a charge. What is the most likely part that is causing the problem? Torch.

hose connections are a real problem. the h-valve also are prone to leakage. the big one is the evaporator. your best bet is to convert it to 134a. this is probably a r12 system. 134a costs alot less to keep filling a leaky system.

Look anything from hoses to compressor seal can leak. Even the evaporator core can be leaking. Besides 15 year old trucks have seen lots of abuse. Torch it if you want! I really think chock this one up; to aged rubber hoses, damaged condenser, o rings, compressor seals or leaking at the evaporator. Isn't it time? "Cool New Hemi Jeep STX"

i own a repair shop,,and i have never had to charge them every year,if this happens there is a leak in one of the hoses on it,a small leak will not show up right away on one,,but a hose or front radiator will cause one to do this,,also a leak from the condenser will not show up at first,, small leaks are hard to find on one,,good luck,i hope this help,s.
