Moreover, studying other fields besides medicine can only broaden your outlook and make you a better person and therefore potentially a better doctor.

It is not that life is so short, but that death is so long. You have only so many minutes here on earth. For every minute you are happy that is one-less minute you are any thing else but happy. Try to get as many happy minutes in life as possible. Seven years down the road you will still be seven years down the road. But if you change to become a dr. now, in seven years you could be one. If you don't start now but wait...it will take longer. Go see the movie with Robin Williams as a man who wants to be a doctor later in his life. I think is is "Patch Adams". Follow your dreams and your heart ...you will never get them if you don't try.

These are my own rules I follow about life, but I think in all of life everyone follows these rules....You will head in the direction that you are looking and you will get good at what you practice at. If you want to change your life you must change where you look and change what you practice. If you don't change your practice you will fall back into old habits. I hope you are able to start a new place to look and learn to practice new things...Good luck. Joe

No it is not too late. You will just be a few years older than the rest of the students. Depending on what your other degree is, some of the credits might transfer to the pre-med program.

It's not too late. You might want to finish your current degree first though, at least it could be your back-up if you don't make it through grueling medical school.
