So I bought an SD memory card off ebay. It is 2 gig; the brand is Blue Memo? Anyways I go and put it in my camera. The following message appears and won't let me do anything. "Memory Card Error Please Check The Card" I finally got it to work for about four pictures and now it is doing the same thing again. It won't let me see my four pictures or do anything else. My mom has a different brand camera that also uses an SD. When we put the memory card in her camera it says Memory full, but we try to review the pictures and the screen is black. Please somebody help me!!!!!

Bad memory card.

Although you can try formatting it.

It sounds like a bad memory card.

See if the manufacture offers a warranty. Some offer 3 year to life.

Three possible things:

1. You flipped the write protection switch by accident.
2. You forgot to format the card.
3. The card is bad.

Checking it on the second camera was a clever step, this way you made sure there is nothing wrong with your camera.

There are 3 types of SD cards ..

1. SD Card (digital cameras)
2. SD minicard (phones)
3. SD microcard (phones)

So first, find out which is the right SD card for your device, if you are certain, then there is a tiny switch on the card (lock - unlock) make sure it's unlocked. The least that I would think of is the card is defictive, which I least expect.

Follow my directions and hofeully you get it solved. ;)

Sounds like maybe you did not format the card. There should be that option in your menu, you will lose the pictures on it, but you should be able to make it work by formatting. If not, then you need to return it for a refund or exchange.. and perhaps go with a better brand.

Iin addition to the above suggestions, please look in your owners' manuals for both cameras and see if the cameras are capable of using a 2 GB card. Even if you got a photo SD card, your camera might not be able to use it. This would be more likely with a cheaper, smaller megapixel-count camera,

you might need to format the card and the SD card has a little switch on the bottom to prevent formatting the card accidentally so check that plus you just might have defective sd card and some older cameras just have hard time with larger cards
