Well, I am 52 years old. I have always crossed my legs. I don't know if there is any truth to this vein thing, but that is what my mother always said. My legs are fine. No vein trouble and I walk an hour every day.

Vein problems are caused by long periods of standing-I have none and cross my legs all the time Go to www.evlt.com it tells you the causes and what can be done about varicose veins, the good news is crossing your legs was not among the causes but overweight, hormonal changes, heredity, sun are. Spider veins are caused by sun exposure-so sun screens on legs too and the other is obstructions veins as cholesterol so the blood doesn't go up right back to the heart but some flows back down through the leg veins and to hold the extra blood the vein(s) get larger.I did a quick search on what causes varicose veins and various web sites clicked on the first one.

I heard that it can cause varicose veins from the pressure and decreased circulation. I cross my legs at the ankles now.
