Sounds like you are going darker than your natural color?

Color does fade, but usually not after just a couple of weeks. Did you buy a store color from like Wa-Mart or Walgreens? I would stay away from them, they are very damaging and harsh. Sallys Beauty Supply has about the best colors that a unlicensed person can buy. When you buy over-the-counter products alot of them contain harsh metallic dyes that can totally ruin your hair, you must be very careful.

If you are going darker you should use a semi-permanent color. Yes, it does fade faster, but you can recolor it more because it doesn't have the harsh chemicals permanent colors do.

If you color w/ a semi-permanent color you can redo it tomorrow, but if you want to redo it w/ permanent you need to wait awhile.

Also, if your hair is over processed (dry & damaged) the color will not work because it will not beable to stick to your hair as well as if it was in a healthy state. When hair becomes dry & damaged the color will fade alot faster.

Good Luck!!

All dye fades a little. It's because some of the dye has dried on top of the hair but not soaked into the hair and you're washing off the flakes. There are probably other reasons too, like too harsh of shampoo and conditioner, sun exposure and many others. I wouldn't redye it though. That could mess up your hair by putting too many chemicals on it in not enough days. If it keeps fading I'd try to find a shampoo and conditioner that is better for dyed hair.

Did you shake up the bottle really well? When I dye my hair I always shake the bottle for longer than they say. I also leave it on until it's no longer wet. Underneath is usually still very wet by the time it's supposed to be dry enough to rinse out. Of course I have very thick hair. Good luck.

Get shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair, like Paul Mitchell. If it has faded allot try to wait at least a couple weeks and then go to a beauty supply store and get a different brand of hair color close to the color you already used, get some filler to go with it,that might help the color last longer. You can also get shampoo or hair gloss that has color in it to keep your color fresh looking until the next touch up. Good luck

You did something wrong. Permanent haircolor does not just "wear off". I have been a Colorist for over 17 yrs and I have never seen it happen. I don't know what you used but something went wrong. I recommend you visit a salon and have a professional take care of your haircolor. Conditioner will not bring back your haircolor....Sure, a shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair will prevent it from fading as fast, but it should not fade in only a few days, more like 6 weeks, and then it only fades a little.

I do hair for a living. What exactly did you do to your hair? Did you dye it a shade of red? If so, red DOESN'T last. Because the molecues in the composition of red is so big, it doesn't FULLY penetrate your hair shaft. It only partially penetrates your hair. Also, if your hair was light and you dyed it darker, it will fade too. The reason is when you lightened it, you released all the color in your hair shaft. If your hair was light, what you needed to do was put a filler in your hair. I'm not sure what your predicament is but if your hair was light, you need to put a filler in your hair. A filler is haircolor that your hair is missing. For instance, people that have DARK hair (black, black brown) have red tones in their hair. If you bleach someone's hair (if they have black hair) you'll notice that they pull a reddish/orange tint. It takes brunettes longer to accomplish blonde highlights. Because you are losing all the reds and browns in your hair (while you are bleaching it) you need to put that back in your hair BEFORE you dye it. If not, there is nothing for the haircolor to hold onto (since you released it - if you bleached it) It's like if your hair is platinum blonde and you dye it red. Yes, it'll be red but then it'll turn pink eventually. If your hair was reallllly light blonde, you need to get a warm color. If you want to go darker brown, first put a filler in your hair. Put a dark warm gold color. Just about two shades lighter than the color you want it to be. Leave the color in your hair for a few minutes and don't rinse it out. just take the excess off w/a towel and then mix up the darker brown and put it on. If your hair is red, you need to buy red shampoo and conditioner. red is hard to maintain. rinse your hair w/COLD water. it seals your hair and doesn't let much of the red escape. I hope that helps you. Any time you color your hair, you need to get the right shampoos - color treated shampoos to be exact. If you need anymore help, ask me! Sorry if this is long!

That happens all the time. I am addicted to dying my hair... every color! When I use the dye that you can get at the grocery store it fades in a matter of days. So i finally went to the salon and got it dyed dark. It was the darkest shade of brown. I loved it. Sure it fades a little bit, but nothing like the "box" dye. I recommend going to the salon. Plus when it was fading, I never saw my roots, it practically lightened to my natural color. Hope this helps.

it does that. even the permanent ones, even the ones you get done at salons wear out after time. it happens. first of all relax. second, dye it again in a week or so. maybe your color underneath was too light and it didn't take all the way. then JUST WAIT at least like 4-6 weeks before messing with it again or you'll really mess up your hair with the chemicals. if you still don't like how it fades, try going darker next time so it fades to the color you want.

It sounds like you use a temporary color, that washes out after so many washes, and if you wash your hair everyday that would do it. If you want the color to last, use a permanent one. Check the box when you buy the color, to make sure it won't wash out.

ok, washing it wout with cleansing soap won't artwork, in view which you used everlasting hair shade, and that's not purely a shade paint for hair, it actually chemically alters the colour pigments of your hair. yet do not subject, i've got suffered many hair shade failures earlier, and that i understand a thank you to help you. quite of attempting to get the hair shade out, try going to a salon and take a glance at asking them what you will desire to do, in case you have money to get a hair coloring appointment there, then your hair will look georgeous, yet once you do not, then merely ask them thier suggestion and visit the grocery tale and get new hair shade, with the merely right of your instincts, the colour that they stated you dye over it. yet reallly, I guarentee going to a salon and getting it finished, in the different case via doing it your self, you're taking the comparable negative aspects which you probably did earlier whilst your hair grew to become out a entire disaster. wish I helped!!!
