Spacers won't hurt very much, but depending on your teeth and stuff, they may make your mouth sore or something. You can tell by how the spacers hurt how much the braces will, so hopefully they won't hurt at all. Clear, if you meant that, but never do the white or clear color bands on it, they will turn yellow.

No spacers don't hurt, I really don't know personally but my daughter had her spacer put in when she was 7 and she is 10 know.... We got her a milkshake after she got it...and when she was done drinking that then we took her to school. I kept asking her all afternoon if it hurt and if she wanted some Tylenol and she just kept saying "No Mom I am fine"....Good Luck..oh yea for the color of braces I would definitely get the silver or the clear color and for your bands get your fav colors first and then each time they change them go with the season or if you are having homecoming or dances go with the theme colors in them!!!!

they will make your mouth hurt for a few days that is for sure eating will be a new dimension in pain if you got meat or something hard to bite into soups and ise cream is ideal the spacers just dis-lodge your teeth and gets them on the move untill you get braces on your teeth and that is where the numbness comes in at

I know I had spacers for 2 weeks and braces for 7 long years wow! I am done with that now

Spacers don't hurt when they are put in, they sort of feel like a piece of food stuck between your teeth. After a few hours they will start to feel uncomfortable and annoying and your teeth will feel a bit tender because they are moving! but all you have to do is take some advil or over the counter pain killers and that will ease! It is not as bad as people make it out to be, i had them and they never bothered me all that much, say like 4 hours after they started to piss me off, but i took the meds and then everything was fine again.

Spacers are uncomfortable. They are put inbetween your molar teeth, to get them to shift apart so the bands can be placed. The bands are a thicker metal that need more room, to be placed. So you wear your spacer for about a week or more. At first they are not bad, but the next day it will hurt. Dont worry to much about though, you will survive.

your spacers will be sore for about a day or two, then you wont even notice they are there! it will feel weird when you bite down, sorta squishy. when i got them, i was afraid that they would come out if i eat or brush my teeth. but after the first day, i realized that i was stupid and they were really stuck in there and would not be coming out. youll have them for about 7-10 days. when you go back to get your braces, they have to shove this ring thing around your molar. (not so much fun). after that, its smooth sailing. when they put the actual brackets on, it doesnt hurt. only half my mouth was sore for the first 5 days or so.

you should get blue. that was my first color. =].

I've never had spacers before so I myself wouldn't know, but I've known people that's had them, and they said they hurt sometimes, but not too bad. They can't hurt no worse than a root canal, filling, or having a tooth pulled. You'll be fine!

Yep sorry they hurt. I would pre medicate with some Advil but not more than the recommended amount. And just be prepared for it to hurt for a few days. Don’t worry it is not that bad many people have suffered threw before.

sometimes they are just obnoxious. sometimes it hurts, but you'll get over it. and braces usually don't come for a while after spacers.

i've never had braces but my friend has and she described it to me. she said it kinda hurt but not that much. u just make it worse by being nervous and theres really not much to be nervous about after a while.
