I'm seriously considering becoming a StudioB2 leader. I"d like to know about it, as a leader or as people who are members.

I'm in my late 20s and I think i'd really enjoy working with this age group as opposed to daisy's or juniors.

Please feel free to send messages or answer here. I'd like to konw what is involved and what to expect. Really just anything at all!

Also please no smart alec answers. Just really would like to know.. thanks!

I think that you would seriously enjoy being a Studio 2B 'advisor'. You are the perfect age for the teenish Girl Scout. Studio 2B is, in my opinion, a less structured, girl driven program than the traditional program. Some girls and leaders love it, some hate it. Basically, the girl earns charms instead of patches, and the use focus books to earn these charms. The girl reviews the booklets and sets goals to accomplish to earn the charm. You, as the advisor, would guide the girl to not set too high or too low a goal. Studio 2B troops are generally focused around a similar interest of the girls, for example science, or camping, or whatever. It's a program that is having a difficult time taking hold, as many of us Old timers are resisting it. I see it's value to some girls, but generally on a whole, I don't think that the girls are receiving it well. For one thing, it's expensive. The charms are $6-8.00 and the focus books are about the same. You can read more about it at the www.girlscouts.org website. I have older girls and for the most part they like it, but still prefer receiving patches for their vests.

i was a girl scout what is a studio b2 leader? i was a cadet and senior girl scout (even earned the silver Custer) I sent my kids to a girl scout troop thru our local school. bad idea to my opinion. i know i could do better, focus on the badges and activities more than them. they never said money was an issue and i even volunteered to teach the kids different things to get badges and i even offered my own supplies so that money wouldn't be a problem. instead the kids just killed time(as my daughter put it) they ate, talked, played silly games. they sewed their own girl scout symbol, but didn't get a sewing badge. they did crafts and didn't get a craft badge, see what i mean. i wish i could be a leader, but i can't go any where. i would have to do it all at my house. i don't have a car or even a drivers license. that's why i haven't asked to be a leader. plus to be honest I'm white and well most of the girls in my neighbor hood is black and they were also in my daughters troop, where my daughters were treated like outcasts. i guess that's the other reason i cant do it. i want the kids to have equal amount of a variety of people. not 80 % verses 20% where the 20% is my kids.

basically what i am saying is try to see if you can get a variety of kids and not a donimation of one over the other, because that breeds hate between them. my kids were treated like that. i dont want other kids treated that way.

Oh, expensive! regrettably, there are human beings in this international that sense their ideals could desire to be held bigger than those that selection. possibly it could have been extra constructive to quietly consume your eggs and genuine Viscount St. Albans and whilst puzzled, flippantly clarify which you do no longer enroll in that particular way of questioning. adequate of the woulda-shouldas, we are previous that, now... What you are able to purely do now, is touch the interior sight place of work and record the troop which you have been in, putting forward specific information on what exceeded off and whilst. i be attentive to that sounds like somewhat lots, yet once you will document a criticism, information are considerable. once you have genuine information of quite activities that exceeded off, you seem such as you extremely have something to whinge approximately. inspite of each and every thing, frivolous court docket situations are made on a daily basis, and you prefer yours to quite be heard! in case you're no longer thoroughly grew to become off by the belief, it extremely is quite helpful to do what yet another person reported and connect yet another interior sight troop. purely undergo in techniques for the destiny: the two worst issues to get right into a public debate approximately are faith and politics.... incredibly in the journey that your ideals are seen to be the minority of the gang. It makes issues extra-perplexing if there is not any longer anybody there to back you up!
