Your eyes would dry out. Just tape them open for the prank you want to pull.

no, This is not a normal function of your eyes and is not good for your brain function. This cannot be learned either, as your eyes are closed when you sleep for a reason to shut out stimuli...
now, your ears are there to hear if you are in danger therefore you don't need your eyes when you sleep...got it.
My husband wakes each night because he hears a train 6 miles away..very faint...now that is a gift from ancient man.

That would be a little scary to see someone sleeping with their eyes open. Why in the world would anyone want to learn to do that? I don't think it's possible though.

Yes its possible to teach urself to sleep with ur eyes open. I did it when i was younger to freak my brother out cuz he was always sneakin into my room to pull a practical joke on me or scare me awake or some other nasty lil trick he'd dreamed up. U have to have some sort of idea how to meditate! U have to be able to be undisturbed when ur first tryin to learn n u have to be able to go into ur thoughts n ur mind well enuf that u don't take notice of what ur eyes see (dark room is best). Then u have to be able to maintain that state AND relax urself to sleep. Ur eyes will stay open if u slowly go to sleep but u have to NOT blink if u can cuz when u do then it is most likely ur conscious self will actively start thinking about ur eyes n u'll "tap back into" that sense n have to start all over again. Be warned ur eyes will be pretty damn dry in the morning. btw lol don't be surprised if u wake up to someone leaning over u saying: "****! r they dead or passed out or what? Ummm... r u alive????"
Lol i scared my brother well enuf to send him running into our parents' room cuz he thought i was dead....he's 13 years older than me too!
Good luck n just practice, u'll figure it out!

why? If you really want to be caught sleeping with open eyes just buy a pair of dummy eyeballs, even just a pair of dummy balls, nobody will notice.

Not a good idea. Your eyes would dry out and could possibly lead to a serious infection.
