The laws are nowhere near tough enough! The death penalty is JUST, and should be entered into the punishment of child molesters, child predators, child pornographers and anyone who causes, assists, aids or in any way harms a child in a physical or sexual manner.

DEATH should be the consequence of harming a child's body and mind for the rest of theirs lives!

I have a 2 year old daughter. I subscribe to "Community Watch"
for child molesters in my area. I go a little further than that, but that is a topic for another time. There are 22 convicted child molesters living within 1/2 mile to 3 miles of my home. ONE lives across the street from my home. Some near elementary/middle schools and within a local Daycare Center.

Having been molested at age 3 through 5, vaginally raped as a child of 7 years old I have forever been altered in the way I accept, love, touch, relationships and common interaction.

Trust has been a major issue for many years. Marriage and many dating relationships have been foiled due to my inability to accept Love on a sexual level. Having children of my own caused me many emotional problems in that I refused anyone to touch or hold them.

I believe this to be due to the person that molested and raped me as a child. I think I would have been a different and more healthy person had it not have happened.

Therefore.......the person that has taken this level of innocence and purity and TRUST from my future relationships should suffer the utmost punishment.

This person has .........murdered me emotionally. They have denied me and those people I interact with the most basic and fundamental emotion of unbiased TRUST.

So the Death Penalty is RIGHT, in my eyes.

Personally I think they deserve worse than the death penalty which would be a sentence of life in prison without parole or any chance of getting out. One thing among inmates is their disgust and hatred of child molesters. The person who is a convicted child molester should be released in with the general population and let all the inmates know what kind of sick bastard that person is. Let the inmates take care of them, in which I know they will make life a living hell for that person. There is nothing more horrible than an innocent child being molested and abused like that. Oh...and before he is released into the prison population, have them castrated and then shove a razor wire wrapped ball bat up their rear end, let them experience just a portion of the pain they are responsible for!

I don't think child molesters deserve the death penalty and here is why. They go to prison for a long time. Everyone in prison knows what they did. The child molester gets beaten up and probably gets molested himself. Than when he gets out he has to report that he is living in the area that he chooses to live in and that he is a child molester. He is shunned by the people living in the area.

In response to aquarian77's comment: you need to put your statement into statistical context.

Most people in the US are white. Most child molesters are male. Therefor, statistically, you would expect for most child molesters in the US to be white males. T

his does not mean that white males are more likely than non-white males to be child molesters. If you go to a predominantly black country, most child molesters will be black. If you go to a predominantly Hispanic country, most child molesters will be Hispanic.

The non-white population in the US is increasing quickly and so are the number of non-white molesters. That doesn't mean that this problem is increasing in minority populations. It just means that unfortunately the problem is keeping pace with the population.

Race tends to be an insignificant factor in who will be a child molester.

The big question is: What can be done about this problem? The answer is not just how should perpetrators be punished but also what can be done to prevent this crime in the first place? Has anyone looked at prevention?

Problem is that the laws don't differentiate btween the real predators, the mentally ill, and those who just had bad judgement.
For example:
Should a 19 y/o girl who had a fully consentual reltaionship w/ a 16 y/o boy be put to deeth, just because Mommy and Daddy didn't like it??
How about a 22 y/o emotioanlly disturbed young man who was sexually abused as a boy and doesn't really understand how to be appropriate with children??
OR, we're probably talking about the 45 y/o scumbag who molests 10 y/o girls/boys - right?
Problem is in most cases the law does not differentiate between these people - they are all classifed as child sex offenders.

Get these people sorted out better, and then hell yes we should deal with them appropriately!

The laws are not tough enough by any means, I am not sure about the death penalty, but if we aren't going to lock them away forever, there should be chemical or physical castration, and a prominent facial mark, a tattoo or a scar, so that they cannot hide who they are. Same for women, there must be ways to 'castrate' a woman.

Why should child molesters get the death penalty? Do people who kill motorist in driving accidents get the death penalty? Do people who rape adults get the death penalty? Should a bus driver who falls asleep and kills six of his passengers (three children) get the death penalty? Is it because he didn't mean to kill the kids that he gets a traffic citation, but the guy who blows a six year-old meant to do it, so he gets the death penalty? What is your logic?

I think the death penalty is too easy. I think they should be hung by the toes and shot between the legs. The pain alone should be enough to make them think twice the next time.

How about castration with no anesthesia. . . And a dull, rusty knife?

Make them live through what the criminals in the prisons will do to them. Put them in the general population and make them wear a uniform that says "I fu*k children!". Then the state doesn't have the expense of killing them with the needle or chair.
