I guess it deals with the embroillment for superiority among the sexes. Men have always been on the top. They don't want to lose that superior position, but why should there be conflict among the sexes. C'mon guys, lets just give women a chance and look at them from a different perspective. Don't be a wuss, go out with girls who are of a strong intellectual ability rather than just the "dumb blondes" who are easily susceptible to manipulation. We can learn alot from them. Example: There's a female student in my AP US History class who, on a recent test, was the only one to pass: I know who I want for a study buddy. Might I add that she is attractive too.
Me? I'll go with girls who have a mind of their own. This isn't the fifties guys, that era of time is over. Take a chance and explore the mind of a woman, you'll be amazed.

I like a mix of both to be honest. If a girl is too submissive, its immature. I wouldn't know if I am dating her or babysitting her.
Most women I know do speak their mind. However some get carried away, like one of my aunts, who shouts at everyone when she's around, and makes the life of everyone a misery (I finally managed to get back to her by spiking her food with laxatives, it taught her new virtues, kinda like seeing holy light - if she reads this, I am as good as dead).
Anyway, I wouldn't like a girl to be a walkover or a steamroller (philosophically speaking, e.g., steamrolling every other opinions). A girl with a opinions of her own, can be an asset. At the same time, a girl who don't care about opinion of others and try to shove hers down every ones throat - needs a laxative.

I much prefer women with intellect and opinion, there is nothing worse than a woman who agrees all the time. Conversely, I do not enjoy the company of a woman who endeavours to be domineering or affects superiority.
A degree of balance and equality is pleasant.

strong women are sexy in my book, but some men who lack in sufficient confidence become intimidated by the strong women. men like to be in control and appear as the knight in shinning amour protecting the damsel in distress so to speak. but really anyone trying to be too strong would always intimidate someone else

The point with women, is they think they are hard or strong that's why men don't fancy them. A laugh.You see, we have our methods and we like to ask ladies out and eventually to bed. With so called strong women, they tend to say no or "I will think about it", meanwhile, while we are waiting, we ask another who says ok. We go and don't come back. After all, a s*** is a s**G isn't it? So men are not intimidated, its just we don't get in, if you get me.
