Yes, I agree, except if we're attacked again, of course.

I doubt that the E.U. will grow anything that involves supporting anybody outside of the E.U.
Keeping troops in the middle east will be necessary, for years to come, whether it is on land or simply aboard ships, the troops will be there.
The ship option makes sense from this standpoint, they are a much smaller target with an entire fleet there to keep them out of harms way. Plus, when they are out of sight, they aren't raising the ire of the arabs.

This is a small problem that need not be addressed until we are able to withdraw. The political climate at that time, will help determine the next logical move, for our troops.

The Pentagon’s 2006 Quadrennial Defense Review was issued in February. As congressionally mandated, this report is a “comprehensive examination of the national defense strategy, force structure, force modernization plans, infrastructure, budget plan, and other elements of the defense program and policies….for the next 20 years.”

The document also unveiled the notion of “the long war” Defense. Secretary Donald Rumsfeld signaled in his February National Press Club appearance when he said “The United States is a nation engaged in what will be a long war.”

The clear message is that all resisting Muslims and their sympathizers are Islamo-fascists and must be defeated in a “long war” struggle to preserve and spread “western civilization.”

The much clearer message is that post-9/11 the Bush administration embarked on a messianic bankrupt global racist colonial “war OF terror” against all nations and peoples everywhere opposing its quest for world dominance.

In the pursuit of our Imperial aims, in order for them to work, it’s essential to have foreign leaders in place who know “who’s boss” and will cooperatively go along and serve our interests ahead of those of their own people. When they don’t, the plan calls for regime change to replace them with someone who will.

The EU is the beginning of the end for the UK.

I think your question is extremely cavalier given the seriousness of what's really happening.

We will win in Iraq, have faith and no we shouldn't leave because the threat of Islamic Fascism still loom. Iraq as a new democracy will be a big victory for peace in the Middle East.

After we win in Iraq we need to keep and establish a permanent base, just like in Germany, Korea, etc.. This is what makes us the most powerful country (and Military in the world)

IF you 'win' in iraq would it be the first, or second time your country has won a military engagement? it would probably be better to let the countries in the e.u deal with any 'new threats' as historically they have proved themselves to be more profficient.

What do u mean if we win?? America is gonna smoke their butts and then they are gonna backdown like they are doing now. They are afraid of us, cause we are the only one's who have nuclear bombs. And we will bomb the far out of Iraq if they don't back down. They are no available marines and armymen to fight, thats why they are gonna start drafting ppl that have been in the armed forces to come fight, cause so many ppl are dying over there. And no one wants to sign up, cause they know if they go, they don't know if there coming back hom alive, or in a body bag.

Sure... when Iran converts to Buddhism and contemplates their collective navel rather than advocating the total destruction of the West. Don't think that will happen tho.

are you so blind you can't see. we are getting our butt kicked in Iraq. as in Nam, this isn't a conventional war. and as in Nam, this is not our war. how the hell did we get into this mess? you had better pray, we can gracefully get out of this mess coz if this senseless war were to drag on another 5-6 years, there'll be no alternative but the draft then we'll see how many of you conservative will be lining up to register and how many of you will be racing for the Canadian border.

I think the mid-east and the US have a big understanding each other deficit. We need to spend more time trying to listen and understand each other and less time trying to hurt each other.
